This was stolen from the North Central forum.

I wanted to see what interest there was in meetings for07. Last year, i went on the "fall foliage drive" with the lotus club. there were only 5-6 cars. I remember an attempt at day at foxwoods early in the summer that kind of went no where. I have some ideas for drives that i'd like to share.

    1) Mountains of NH tour, featuring driving up Mt Washington.

    2) Dinner gathering in the North End

    3) A collective drive up to the New ENgland Exotic Car show

Sounds like a plan to me.

As for the n.e. dinner I'd guess you'd want some kind of "corral"
parking with armed guards.Maybe we can have it a the "BING"
AND "T" can "take care of "bizaneice"

Last year Yuppieracing.com had an awfully spirited drive up to NE Exotics.
And of course, will let you know of the few cruises they plan this year.

One to NY for the especially daring.

All those events get cross posted.

Kinda my backyard, that would make for a nice scenic drive.

Boston tunnels sound nice, the traffic to get there is horrible and Boston city driving is like slow death.

    Which one?

The Bud event is awesome. Went in 2005 and had a great time. Alas, missed 2006 due to track event. The drive to it, for some, could be nice. Still, the White Mountain drive would be the most scenic IMO.

I can't understand why everyone is 'terrified' of the North End. I've driven through several parts of downtown Boston, gotten lost, etc. Its not THAT bad - the radiator didn't fail, I didn't have my hubcaps stolen, nor did I get mugged by the Southie Irish mob. Perhaps if we called ahead, and had some parking reserved for us somewhere, it would ease the burden. I can't imagine too many 'real' Italian restaurants would thumb their noses at the chance to have several gleaming Ferraris parked out front. I believe if such a trip downtown was thought through, planned, and some common-sense logistical arrangements were made with the destination in-advance, it wouldn't be the 'bear' everyone thinks it is. But that's just me, I'm an optimist at heart.

I'll pretty much drive anywhere - NH, Maine, Conn, Berkshires....if there are sports cars and Food/beverage at the destination, I'm down....

Ditto, drive nearly everywhere and park where ever. Am not afraid of North End and have driven there quite a few times, NYC as well, and too many other places to mention.

As a drive for MANY PEOPLE to enjoy, the CITY part of Boston other then the fun sounds in the tunnels, is worthless imo. Anyone can see Boston, though a wll-planned more scenic view with country road twists, turns, and elevation changes without city congestion might be more enjoyable. While i have given up 'spirited' driving on public roads, there are quite a few near me that provide many consistantly challenging setions if taken 'at speed' and the added benefit of glorious visuals. Just be aware of the bears, deer, flying turkeys, and other animals.

For me, Boston is just another congested city and, frankly, worse than NYC in the way other fellow drivers handle the task at hand. i'd trust the average NYC driver over their Bostonian counterpart any day of the week.

I have been pulling together info to have a meet / concours at the Nashoba Valley Winery / Vineyard in Northern Mass. Its only 30 minutes from Nashua, and 40 minutes from Boston.

I bounced the idea off a coupla guys this weekend and they all seem to be on board.

If you guys wanna do this lemme know and I will start getting all of the arrangements in line.

    Thanks

    Scott.

I'd like to join in the fun. Do you have an idea of when (season, month) you would like to hold the event?

Let us know what you guys decide to do. We'll try to bring the F430 or G-spyder along for the ride.

A winery tour sounds terrific. Also, are there any drives West worthwhile? I keep looking at a map of the state, and there's a lot of real estate west of Worcester I've never set foot in......is it really no-man's-land, best left for Fall Foliage tours? Or are the Berkshires nice in the Spring/Summer as well?

I have a route that we ran on the eastern side of the Berkshires several years ago with the New England Region Porsche Club. Some very nice, low traffic, twisting roads.

And there are a few good restaurants out in the Pioneer Valley where we may want to stop for a break.

I'll dig the route out of my files. We can discuss as the driving season approaches.

I am finishing up a two year redue of a 348TS. The owner also has a fabulous Italian restaurant in Milford, NH called Giorgio's.
During a conversation on Tuesday he mentioned he would love to host a Formula viewing sometime this Spring/Summer for all Italian car drivers?
What do you guys think? Dates?

Wow, he has been working on that thing for 3+ years! Am glad he sent it to you to get done. Great restaurant and, in fact, it is the place where my wife and i had our first date. He also makes his own grappa i believe and their entire family are HUGE Ferrari fans. Giorgios would be a GREAT place for lunch. Food is excellent, atmosphere is very modern and nice, and... did i mention the great food :)

How many cars can park there? I'm always up for a NH drive when the road salt is gone.....

I would imagine that at least forty cars can fit in his brand new parking lot. George wants to show off his 348 so it would definately be when the salt is gone. I am thinking maybe May. I will check the F1 schedule.
