Isn't the owner of those cars on F-Chat? I think I saw his Diablo and SLR at the car show in Woodbridge last week. BTW... nice pics!
He isn't, but he always joins us on our mixed exotic cruises. Not all of the cars are his, although most of them are. Guess which one is the fastest car of the lot?
I saw his yellow TR in the shop. I think he wants (or did) sell it judging by the plates now on the SLR. Pretty nice collection!
Good eye! Yeah he sold the yellow TR. Had some really serious mileage on it too, but was very well sorted out mechanically. Nice to see someone who isn't afraid to put some miles on their car...
Arshad: I didn't notice the mileage. I'm always on the lookout for high mileage Ferrari's in hopes of see some, but most older ones are 20,000 to 40,000 kms - doesn't give me that warm and fuzzy the Porsche's I had did - 200,000 km was just breaking them in! What did he have, 50,000 kms? Any idea what it went for. (Still one of my favourites!)
I love these ones! Could you please send them to me in high res? [email protected] thank you. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thats because a very large majority of these cars had the speedo pulled....the car has been showing 30K for decades, yet the interior shows 100,000kms...ROLMAO. He had i believe over 200,000kms on that tr (or close to it)....i just hit 58,000 on mine. I just saw a 308 the other day that said 70,000kms its and 81 gtsi...i can bet easily that thing flipped over a few times and actually had 270,000kms. My lexus has 150....and this thing looked like it went through the ringer more than a few times
He had 250k+ on it. Practically unheard of on a Ferrari. The only other person I know of who had a Ferrari up in that ballpark is John Carmack.
I just got my new camera here are a few pics just to show off lol hopefully i will take lots of pictures from Ferraris with. first few pics. http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b150/fxx/mykodakcamerapics003-12222.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b150/fxx/mykodakcamerapics005-12222.jpg http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b150/fxx/mykodakcamerapics0072222.jpg
Arshad / Big Red: Well that makes me feel better in one sense - these engines/cars are capable of being cars that can be kept and driven for long periods. As for the speedo thing - I've seen a lot of questionable mileage on newer and older cars, so what the speedo says should always be taken with a grain of salt. Unfortunately, when you go to sell a car, like I'm just in the process of doing, an honest high mileage car that is well maintained and in great shape is a tough sell even at a low price.
it alwasy buyer beware...but if it has higher mileage just make sure it comes with the stacks of bills with it. If anything, you know it was cared for and possbile a trouble free car, which means, more seat time instead of garage time
