Yes, with plenty of room to spare. Sheldon, what gear were you in on the highway? At 120km/h in 6th, the engine is turning over at 2800RPM and is very quiet. Overall, this car is very quiet for a diesel and does not have the typical "rattling-a-bag-of-nuts-and-bolts" diesel sound to it. On another note, I filled up the car for the first time today. At 99.9cents/L for diesel out here, I filled up the tank for the bank-breaking grand total of $13. That should give me 400km plus worth of driving.
I don't think you would want to see it on jack-stands with a thick layer of dust on it now would you? I took on alot of winter projects for the car, so it's been out-of-action for a while. Pics will have to wait. It'll be back on the road for early Spring and will be fresh and ready for the upcoming driving and showing season. Be aware, this year's vintage races at Mission should not be missed as the featured marque/theme will be Italian cars and so there'll be a strong showing of Ferraris/Alfas/Maseratis/etc... The featured racecar will be a Ferrari 512S (I believe John Goodman's car, so I've heard). Me and the GT4 will definitely be there!
512S? DAMN O_O BTW, Where's Mission? very far from Vancouver? And thanks for sharing news about your Ferrari. Hope to see you in car shows soon.

Hi Peter, Love the new daily hauler! What type of work did you do on the F-car? Please tak lots of pics at the historics at Mission especially the 512S! Lawrence
I don't have a car anyways. :-S I can't come...but thanks for links Peter. Wow, there's a picture of a 917. Beautiful.
I made and installed a new duct onto the new oil cooler I installed earlier this summer, I'm in the process of reconditioning a dstributor-testing machine, so I can properly diagnose and repair the distributors on the car and I'm also recovering (well, not me, my Dad. He's better with a sewing machine than me) the glovebox door on the dash, as it had a few tears on it which I had only patched up and it looked bad. I had a hard time finding suitable vinyl with the same grain pattern, but finally found some at a fabric store in Bellingham. It's funny how a few things can take so long to do.
i also own a smart (well my parents do) and we can get 500km out of 20L of diesel and thas about for $20 or so. now if you think of that...500km for $20...where else could you get that kind of fuel efficiency...the only problem i see with this car is that when you are on the highway it tends to get blown about all over by the wind. other than that...i love it.
I'm just being bitter, I hate the car. I worked for Mercedes and we had nothing but problems with them. The techs hated them. The same cars coming in over and over again for the same problems. I hope you don't have these problems though!
Time will tell. For now, as I said earlier, the car suits my needs perfectly, I enjoy it, it meets my expectations and then some more and it's just plain fun to drive. When I need to get my speed-fix I drive the Ferrari, for all other driving duties I drive this. If I have any problems with this car, I hope that it'll be taken care of in a respectable manner. I expect Mercedes personnel and their work ethic to be of the highest standard. Can you vouch for that?
I've been sitting here listening to Mozart all night and this video produced the most beautiful music of the evening. What a glorious sound. Thanks Rick.
Given that your the only one complaining about it being a repost is pretty good. I never saw that one before until yesterday.
Great video....thanks !!! Was the track bumpy or is that car equipped with solid suspension bushings.....LOL !!!
