I know Dahr. His yellow Enzo burned on the expressway way back, didn't know if you remembered that. Titty Bingo is a good band, but ain't no Pink Floyd. I think I told you about that in the burnt Enzo thread. :) Car was blue when it was for sale in ?03. Was on Intarweb site of Risi, either Houston or Dallas. I think Dallas.
IIRC, Paul did have a red Challenge, had Seitel logs on it, seemed to need bodywork occasionally. He had Azzurro Monaco 355B street car.
I remember seeing the F50, but it didn't go out much, not nearly as much as some of their other cars. Never saw it sitting in drive like the Enzo did.
I probably have the R&T in archives unless someone else here has scanned it. Overhead 3/4 view, moving, top off.
May not have been R&T, but here's a few of Frame's car.
http://www.fca-sw.org/article.aspx?article_id=272 Delivery day TWS, and 2 cars delivered. R&T may have shot it there.

Um, I thought Dahr's Phoenix Enzo was red, not yellow. I have a piece of one of the ceramic brake discs. It's because of that car that he could've sued me. :) I have the e-mail printed out somewhere; pretty funny.

The blue F50 was definitely still blue in '03...?

Not many Azzurro Monaco cars out there; I can only come up with 106839.

    What's Pink Floyd...?

    OMGzorz, j/k. :D

    Which one's Pink?
You're right, it was red. I was thinking Yellow F50 and as usual typing and speaking far slower than I think.

    Joe,

Thank you for your info, and your help with posting the pix. It must been quite agonizing..since there are just so many pictures. I was told that Art Sports have a rotisserie storage facility in Osaka, and they have a McLaren F1 LM there.! It is definitely one of the highlights in my next trip to japan.

    Again, thanks for everything!

    Best regards,

    Felix

Dahr has a house here in Austin and he records all of his albums out at Willie Nelson's studio, so I see some of his cars from time to time. Saw the Enzo here back in '03 or '04. Speaking of Azzurro, he also has a Azzurro California F430 Spider. Seems like a pretty cool guy.

Were all four for the Sultan of Brunei? Apart from the one for sale in England are the others still with the SoB?

Also did he have any of his modified - I recall seeing a model F50 Sultan of Brunei special LHD with a different rear spoiler?

As someone who driven both an F 40 and an F 50 could you give an idea of the differences on the road.

Very cool guy. I would love to see pictures of the Azzurro F430 if you have any.

All of the RHD F50s are modified - they're RHD. :D Seriously, though, outside of the RHD conversions, I don't know if all of them have sustained additional modifications.

102852 was for the Sultan; additional modifications.
    103047 was for the Sultan.
105193 is RHD, but I can't find a link from it to the Sultan.
106985 is RHD and was (or maybe still is) in Australia; another for which I cannot find a link to the Sultan.

Jas, what is that, your living room...? :)

Jim, after driving the F40 and F50, my personal impression was that comparing them is a challenge...they are quite different.

The F40 has a high strung personality, dart like, and the steering tracks every bump in the road. On boost, there are few thrusts like it...popping and crackling on the overrun, it is a sensory delight.

The F50 is quite different...the first thing you notice is the noise and buzz in the interior...the engine is bolted directly to the bulkhead and every engine noise/vibration/chain noise is transmitted into the cabin. Also, since there is no turbocharging, the acceleration is much more linear and although as quick, it feels "slower" even though it really isn't. In order to get the useful performance out of the F50, the peak torque is higher up in the rpm range so revs are kept up...really a fun car to drive.

Other differences in terms of driveablility relate to the gearbox. The F40 box is a little stiffer and notchier...the F50 is silky to shift and drama free.

Two very different cars and often unfairly compared.
