Wow really? I was in mhh's S65 again tonight, we were just on inner city streets but he put his foot down maybe 1/3 throttle... we took off like a freakin rocket, the tyres chirped, and we pulled up at the next set of lights laughing out tits off at how stupidly powerful this car is. Never mind that the next set of lights we stopped at were actually GREEN!!!! mhh was laughing so much he didn't even notice!
Well, I DO have an objective analysis: on the Italian roads where I gunned the "S" this summer, I can testify that I consistently outran a Ferrari F355, a F360 and a Porsche 997 Carrera S in terms of sheer acceleration. There is no way the Granturismo 4.2 could keep up with these cars. My impression is that the "S" is a sub-13s 1/4 mile car; it also felt at least as fast (and much more torquey in the mid-range) than a BMW M3 I tested later.
Sorry, I just can't see it. Look at the numbers, the HP and Torque increases are minimal, it is as big as a house and it still weighs 2000kg ready to go. I have owned an F355, a 360 Modena, a Porker 996 and a 4.2ltr Granturismo. I am sure the "S" felt fast from the seat of the pants, especially with that sound track and paddle sequential box; but it isn't going to kill any of the cars that you mentioned and I have also owned. It is better than a 4.2ltr GT; but it isn't going to blitz a 360 Modena, let alone a 997 Carrera S. The "S" is a nice car and I am sure I will enjoy my time with mine when it comes; but based on my experience it won't be blitzing too many Ferraris or Porkers on our local club drive days.
Too much weight and overall size to be nimble and quick. The manual box helps, as does the altered weight distribution in the "S"; but you can't beat physics.
I ran this through the RB interpreter and it still came out indecipherable do you guys have schools in NZ Bro ?
NZ interpretation, As you will all be travelling at the speed limit, no one will be blitzing anyone. LOL at the RB interpreter link.
