Here's a few new cars that will be on display. http://www.drive.com.au/Editorial/ArticleDetail.aspx?ArticleID=49225&vf=12 I hope to go either Sunday or Monday. I've got a flight booked but I'm tempted to drive over instead.
I'm not at all excited about this year's motorshow. Already seen the Bugatti and get to see it run at the Grand Prix so there isn't really anything of note. I'll be there Friday.
GTR will be the highlight for me. They really have the wrong pricepoint for the car though. It's a hell of a deal, but I think it should be about 50k less (especially when you consider what they are paying in Japan). 1 series BMW has my eye as well, but not too keen on a vert. The 135i looks to be the "true" M3 to me.
Yeah me too.. 135i Coupe.. 200+Kw and 400Nm in small car.. what's not to like? lol Wish the GTR was 50K less too.. but no chance :-(
the looks for one... much prefer the normal 1 series shape. the engine is a winner though ... Put it in the hatch and im all over it!
No! The show highlight will be the new Hyundai iload van, its ok, you would'nt undersdtand, its a "VAN THING". The GT-R, i don't know, you have to respect its performance, but at the end of the day its for bogans with money, ie a step up from a HSV/FPV. No porker, no lambo, no benz, no lotus, no jag.....who else is missing. Melb. has failed [esp. when you consider all the Auto-HQ's are here in Vic.] and now without doubt Sydney is THE Motorshow of Australia....[That hurts, but its true] Ciao M
Lambo will be there. Not sure if Sydney is THE show as they don't get all the brands either. Australia really needs just one show - trouble is, they can't decide which city should get it. Poor form that Porsche and Benz won't be in Melbourne. Jaguar? Do they still make them?
Have you driven any of the current models? No really, I'd like to know what you've based this opinion on. I've had seat time in both the previous model XKR and current model XK and I'd love to know where you think they are lacking. OK they're no Ferrari but then they're not trying to be either. Personally I'd love an E-Type because I prefer the classics but the current XK's are fantastic cars for the money.
You made a good point! They are most likely building the best product right now in its long history. Just after Ford lost interest, pulled then plug on F1, and in the process of selling it to Indians, the brand has kinda gone all quiet. Passing on the motorshow doesnt help, but Ford are still having to save bucks where ever it can. Jag will *kinda* have a Ferrari family connection, TATA is really friendly with FIAT, FIAT will be using the Jag platforms for its large sedans in the future, so as a guess that would be AlfaRomeo, Lancia and Maserati based on Jag undercarriages of sorts. Maserati: Made In India, nice tone to it.....NOT Ciao M
actually a mate of mine (don't laugh) has been a jaguar hater since our school days...and a major mercedes lover...we argued many times over it. anyway...he's just acquired (as a dealer) a jaguar XJR and reckons it's phenomenal. i had to pinch myself!
I meant to say "They don't make good looking cars anymore" Older Jaguars were simply astounding and quite beautiful to look at. The XKR just looks like an Aston Martin AMV8 Vantage to me. I love the E-Type as well, they look brilliant. Edit: This in green Image Unavailable, Please Login
