    Hi everyone,

I recently had my car returned from PPF installation and noticed multiple defects in the film, which I’ve discussed in a previous thread.

While closely inspecting the car, I came across a concerning issue: a section of plastic just below the left headlight appears to be damaged. To me, it looks melted—potentially from excessive heat, possibly due to a heat gun used during the PPF application.

Has anyone else with a 296 noticed anything similar in that area?

I’d really appreciate your thoughts, and if possible, could someone share a photo of that same spot on their car for comparison?

I’ve also attached a few images showing minor scratches on the engine bay glass cover, in case anyone has input on those as well.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Curious...im not aware of heat being used to apply PPF. Typically it's applied using a slip solution so no heat. I have seen heat used to remove film so I guess they could have used heat if they were removing film that was applied incorrectly and then allowed to dry. Also not sure how the glass could have been scratched. Im assuming that wasn't present when you dropped the car off for the service. Regardless I would hope the shop plans to make this right.

none of those damages were present when I dropped the car off.. my car is brand new.. when I dropped the car off to them, I was told that they will contact me if they find any preexisting damage and send me photos for review before they start the job... to this date there were no emails/communications about pre existing damage..
