A reminder of the show on Memorial Day in Everett. Repost; Hi All, A heads up for car lovers looking for alternative activities close to home on May31st. I will be showing my 308 and Robert O will be showing his TR at the 'Cruzin to Colby' show in Everett this year. With close to 900 cars showing it is much more than hot rods and customs. There are numerous vintage, antique and race cars as well. Elvis and Marilyn will be making an appearance too. I was the only exotic there last year and with Robert it makes two this year. We have a nice area where we park with plenty of room for more if you arrive early. The day starts with a fabulous "all you can eat" breakfast at the Flying Pig Brewery. From there it is a tour of the show covering 4 blocks down Colby and one block off both sides with a double row of cars parked down the center. We had such a good time last year I thought I would share this with all of you. It would be fun to get an exotic car section going. Mine stirred quite a bit of interest as it was. The show is a charity benefit for Hospice and Camp Fire USA. Enclosed is a flyer. Preregistration is important. For those interested I can send you a copy of the form. Happy driving! Dana (Spasso) Another repost; Hi Everybody, Just an update on the Cruzin to Colby show on May 31st. I called one of the event organizers this evening for more information. He is very pleased that we are showing an interest in coming and was very accomodating. They did a great job of organization last year, this will be the 5th annual. Here is the run down. Because of the popularity of the show it looks like they are going to open part of Wetmore Avenue, parallel to Colby, for more cars and vendors. WOW! It's getting big! Parking is on the street with cars backed in at an angle. Getting to the show early insures wide spacing between the cars and short lines at breakfast! Although there is no reserve parking I will try to stake out parking at the south end of Colby at Pacific across from the entrance/exit gate. Folding chairs are recommended. Anybody that has their car at the show can leave when ever they wish. A lane will be opened and barricades moved by show workers when you want to leave. Unfortunately we will not be able to rope the cars off so there will be the need for somebody from the club to stay with the cars and monitor the crowd so no silly things happen. It was my experience last year that most of the people there were "Car People" and were careful and respectful around my car. The kids were the best part. They know a good car when they see one. I got a great tan while I was there too! Contact me for a Release/Registration form. Check the blank in the lower R/H corner for the Show and Shine and send a 20.00 check to the address at the bottom. Early registration is recommended! If you can, let me know if you intend on going so I can get a count for the required parking. Contact me for more info any time, Thanks, Dana Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh Goody ! I can show you my engine. Its a Briggs and Straton with dual overhead cans, fuel injection ( using gravy basters), and its blown ( two bathroom fans blowing into a couple of funnels hooked to the carb ). I figured out what this low carb stuff is about lately and mounted the carb under the engine. Its quite a machine and should get lots of comments 'cause it IS a special interest set up. Haven't figured out what to put in the overhead cans yet.
Just bringing this back up to the top for those that might be looking for something to do next Monday. Robert O. and I should have our cars located on Colby at the south end near Pacific Avenue. Swing on by and say hi! It should be quite a spectacle. Take the Pacific ave exit from north bound I-5 and turn left. Head west through town, up and over the big hill by the courthouse, ( about 1/2 mile) and the show will be on the left. Can't miss it. DJ
