Memorial Day - Mon, May 29 - FREE Track Event

Las Vegas FCA invites you to our FREE Track Event on Memorial Day - Monday, May 29th from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. This is a 100% FREE EVENT for all Ferrari people and other exotic car friends courtesy of Spring Mountain Motor Sports Race Track in Pahrump, Nevada. We will have the full 3.5 mile track including the new track extension. Since this is a FREE event, there is no advance registration. Just show up! Bring your Ferrari or other exotic car along with your helmet (SA95), long sleeves and pants. Loaner helmets will also be available. Please have your car checked out in advance - especially your brakes. Spring Mountain is providing the corner workers, loaner helmets, and a catered lunch.

Those coming from Vegas that wish to drive out together can meet at 7:00 AM at Starbucks on the SE corner of Sahara and Ft Apache, and also at 7:30 AM at the gas station on the junction of Route 160 (Blue Diamond) and Route 159 (extension of Charleston). Those coming from Arizona may want to ride in with someone from http://www.ferrariaz.com/ and those coming from California may want to ride in with people coming from http://www.fca-sw.org/ or http://www.ferrarisd.com and others can hook up at http://www.ferrarichat.com/.

Please ask for an instructor to accompany you in the passenger seat for the first few laps if you haven't driven the newly expanded track yet. There will also be slow speed lead-follow parade lap sessions for leisurely runs around the new track. For more information, contact DeShawn Shaw [email protected] at 702-382-5008 office or 702-275-4388 cell, or Jeff Ryerson 702-437-6500 residence or 702-210-1049 cell, or Jim Navarro at 702-499-0029, or Jeff Wenger at 702-341-1606.

Now this isn't for FCA members only, is it? Can others come with non-exotic cars, like BMWs and such?

The invitation was to the Las Vegas FCA (and we invited the Arizona FCA and CA FCA and FOC guys), so dues-paying members who are in-between Ferraris at the moment are invited to bring their Diablos, Maseratis, Murci's, Koenigseggs and other expensive-type exotics and Ferrari owners not yet FCA members are invited too - but it's strictly for exotics - so that means no Beemers, tuners, or non-exotics (no matter how cool) - sorry guys!

Also - even though no advance registration is required - we do need a head count to make sure the caterer has enough cuisine for everyone. Please let DeShawn know that you plan to attend ASAP:

    Hi Jose,

Yes, your whole family is welcome. There are two bleacher types of grand stands, indoor plumbing, and a building to get in out of the sun. Make sure you bring a camera. Everyone will be looking forward to meeting you. I'll be in Hawaii on a cruise this weekend, but I'm sure you'll have great fun, and I'll look forward to meeting you at future events. Look for DeShawn who will be running the event, and say hi for me!

To those asking if non f-cars and non exotics would be allowed... I was politely told no. I'm one of the techs at penske wynn, and had heard about the event a few weeks ago through an email. I got really excited at the idea of a free event and a chance to meet all the local f-car guys..... maybe next time.

A big THANK YOU to the Las Vegas club for a great event. It was certainly worth the drive over for Redondo Beach to participate with fun people on a world-class track. The hospitality was terrific and the instructors (especially Nina, my instructor) were experienced and knowledgable. And FREE!!!!
