This past weekend, the Liberty Foundation's B-17, painted (for the movie) as Memphis Belle, visited Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) in Atlanta, accompanied by an AT-11. I had seen the B-17 flying over Marietta on Saturday; on Sunday, after attending a car show, I drove the Ferrari down to PDK to take a look.

They were doing a brisk business selling rides; when the plane landed, only the right-hand engines were shut down; the passengers deplaned through the aft door and the new group boarded; the right-hand engines were re-started, and the aircraft taxiied out and took off, all in less than 10 minutes.

I've seen a number of B-17s through the years, but most nowadays are G-models in natural metal. It was a novelty to see an F-model (albeit one converted from a G) in olive drab. And from what I remember from the original Belle, the markings seem reasonably correct.

I wanted to take more photos of the plane taxiing out, but my camera battery chose that moment to die, and I had forgotten to take my spare. Brain fade!

Again! They have the wrong grey on the undersurface and way too light. Also incorrect application on the nacelles.
