i know the manual states you can request N at speed and then pull the up paddle while still at speed and the car will select the correct gear for which speed the car is at! i had my car a while and i still have not attempted this, i want to try but for some reason i am a bit cautious.
so has anyone been going say 50mph in 3rd and requested N and then pulled back on the up paddle and continued on at 45 mph as if nothing has happened?
    thx,
    rob

I don't think I would try that. The motor would drop to idle and I don't think the transmission would know what gear to select and be able to blip up from idle.

I have done that. It's really lame, as the computer always picks a gear that is way higher than the gear you really want. It's mental alright (ha ha).

Yeah, I've done it, it's fine. I also pull into Neutral a lot at a speed higher than that when I am coming up to a toll, just to avoid the car dropping down through all the gears.

If you had 2nd the car will chose 3rd, if you had 3rd the car will chose 4th, more or less like that, always to high anyway so no worries at all.

only time it could be an issue is when you are nearly stopped , just crawling along and the car will pull 1st when really it should pull 2nd , and it gets a bit jerky , then away you go again

Yes, the gear it picks is very high. My car seams to like going into 5th or 6th.
