    Walter,

Not sure if this is an option or not, but when my emergency brake cable on the Jalpa broke, I sent it to GT Car Parts down in Arizona. They pulled out the old cable and put a new one in (even used the old connectors where they could to keep it looking OEM).

    Hi Mike,
thanks for the info. But I thought that perhaps someone has this cable in -almost- new condition "layin`around".....! I think its too much effort to send the old cable to the US to get it repaired. I also contacted MIE and McGrath in the UK. We`ll see......!

    Ciao!

    Walter,

Yes, I know that cable very well. I had to replace mine and I recall the adjustment process was very sensitive! You will most certainly be able to find the cable here: http://www.campanacarrozzeria.it/default1.asp

Campana purchased all the old stock from Maserati's GT cars many years ago and they literally have almost anything you can think of available. The last time I called them they had a girl working there who spoke English but that was a couple years ago. I recommend either calling via someone who is fluent in Italian or emailing them your request.

    Walter,

When I did my Bora I had to redo the parking brake cables and I found the supplies locally either at a truck repair supplier (they use a lot of such cables) or at a shipyard. Sailing rigging has some of the same materials.
So I ended up with new outer housings from the truck supply place and then the cable and end fittings were from a sail shop. They swedged (squeezed) the fittings on for me. It's all stainless steel now so no more rust issues!

I'll bet that if you dig a little locally you can do this. You don't have to send stuff the the USA for this.
