Need some Merak Expertise ! The right side cams have both long and short marks to line up on the cam caps. with #1 at TDC, some books say short marks, some say long marks. (there are only long marks on the left cams.) the car was set at the long marks for the right side cams.... Is it correct or should I be on the short marks for the right side cams..... Help!

    Appreciate your advice...

    Regards,

    Charles

It's been a few years, but if I remember correctly, the long marks are used with #1 cylinder on TDC, between exhaust and intake. The short marks are used if you just needed to time the cams on just that one head. The piston on the front cylinder on that bank would be set on it's TDC. If you don't have the info by now, I'll pretty sure I'll be able to look it up in my collection. just let me know. MIke

Yes, as I found out, you're correct. The two short marks are only on the 4-5-6 bank of cams to set up tdc of #6.
