    driving on way home this eve. in far right lane on open stretch and see 996 turbo coming up fast nearest fast lane where e55 amg was just cruising. seemed like two younger kids in Carrera. after a few seconds, the 996-T tries to pull on the e55 at about 60mph. since road had a bit of a curve I could see the e55 was pulling away and seemd to have advantage. noticed the back of car had e55 then where amg typ. is it had RENNtech. infer this was a moded e55 supercharger. this thing pulled like a freight train and was gone. at initial pull the 55 just walked the 996 thought seems like Carrera made up some ground. damn that thing is fast. ever see one of these? ran into a Kleeman awhile back and was no fun...have not seen RENNtech (infer a nother Merc tuner). from what a buddy of mine mentioned, the bone stock e55/amg is not something to be messed with either from stop/rolling up to 100+ mph...

    Yes RennTech is a Merc tuner. I think their home offices here in the US are in Florida, headed by Mr. Hartmut Fehyl. They make some *****in' Benzes but I've heard that their mods are not the most reliable. OTOH, Kleemann seems to have gotten it right with MB hot-rodding. A friend in Michigan is a Kleemann distributor and after I experienced a "Kleemanized" SL65 AMG, my jaw about dropped to the floor! Something like 720hp and 900+ lb./ft. torque at around 2,200rpm!!!!! :eek:

    And yes, even a stock AMG Merc is nothing to mess with. After all, they were the original "Velvet Hammer"

    Kleemann Mercs are amazing. I've never personally experienced one, but the stats are indeed jaw dropping.
