Digitil image unveiled and there are two details which catch my eye. First: there is an actual 3 element wing Second: there is a bib or loop positioned under the nose and THEN the wing pylons mount under that. So in other words, the front wing pylons do NOT mount to the underside of the nose, but rather they mount to a bib or loop which is mounted under the nose. I'm wondering if the f-duct holes are mounted in this loop or bib...... interesting Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I should add that I am not sure if this image was leaked or how it really came of. It's making it's way around the technical areas though, just not the MB website... yet?
LOL. nice. yeah, MB will release a teaser soon and the actual unveiling of the car won't be for a couple weeks in Barcelona
news from auto bild motorsport regarding W03. - shakedown on wednesday next week - 3 different exhaust solutions to test before Melbourne - 1 solution is "on the edge" but Merc think it´s legal - only 1 bigger update before Melbourne at second Barcelona week - car supposed to look not that much different to its predecessor - team very satisfied with achieved downforce levels, targets were set very high as they got caught by setting them too low for the last 2 seasons.
Fixed it for you! While the tunnel & simulation data are getting pretty good these days you've still got to get the sucker on track to see where you're really at..... Which is why I remain a little surprised they haven't got it going yet. OK, they ran the old car and gathered a ton of tire data and always said that was their plan. I'm just not convinced. OTOH, one reason to keep it under wraps is *if* they think they've got a (visible) game-changer going. Not a mercury linked suspension (easy to hide) but say a revolutionary diffuser (again!)..... Cheers, Ian
Right on Ian. Just like the new Ferrari, what the wind tunnel says and how it is on the track remain two different things.
Excited to c it. I wish the best for Schumi and the crew, it's best for F1 if there are 4-5 competitive teams on the grid.
I notice the nose is not as wide as W02 which means in order to maintain cross sectional rules it is probably somewhat stout , ie. taller north to south than east to west
Also I noticed that most teams are still running those farings in the wheels while Ferrari doesn't anymore. I wonder why?
