I don't know if this answers you, but it's an interesting read, nonetheless. http://www.qv500.com/ferrari250gtop4.php
When I was doing work on GTO #4713, AKA 250 LMB, we had a few discussions about both cars (they are very close in appearance). I do not know how accurate the info was but we pieced together a few odds and ends, none of which I can confirm as true or false. I present it for your information and entertainment. 250 - aluminum body, 330 steel 250 - dry sump, 330 wet 250 - watts link rear end, 330 ????? 250 - 5 speed, 330 4 speed OK, let's get going!!! Bob Z.
While I do appreciate they are a special car (now thanks to this site) ... I'd probably still walk right past one looking for a GTO or LM. A little weird looking to me. Pete
Maybe it was to relate to the Lusso more ... help sales? Also I imagine, discussing the rear suspension, that the LMB would have the watts linkage also, as the GTO does and also so does the Lusso ... thus why go backwards? Pete

Yeah, but how much "less expensive" than a 250 gto. It really is a great car mainly built for max speed at Lemans. Here are a few more pics of it from cavallino '06 and NYC concours '05. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
According to the blurb in the nyc concours program where this car was shown last year, the lmb was solely built for maximum speed at lemans. It's got the rarity on its side and the bigger engine, but I'd agree the looks aren't even close to the 250 GTO series I. It was also shown at cavallino this year. some pics.... For me probably one of the nicest looking Ferrar's ever made and when one looks at the price difference between it and a GTO, well one has to say the LMB is probably good value, well all being relative!
http://www.talacrest.com/Ferrari_Sales/1963_Ferrari_330_LMB___4381/814.htm Talacrest have had 4381 listed for sale for some time. if it does get sold hope the new owner continues to bring it to Goodwood for the Revival, always one of the stars of the TT race.
Absolutely, awesome car that I've enjoyed seeing driven by Emanuelle Pirro and others. I've been wondering why it's been for sale so long, must be the asking price? Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was told that they are the same as a Daytona comp wheel (but I may well be wrong on that). They switched to these a few years ago at Goodwood as I believe it was breaking the Borrani's spokes particularly when Peter Hardman was driving the car very hard.
They're not Daytona comp wheels which are one piece castings. I am now pretty sure they're Image billet/3 piece wheels as per this link. They can be built without the bolts showing: http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/pages/wheels_billet.html
I believe this is the car that finally won the Revival TT for Ferrari at Goodwood in 2008, isn't it? I think the 330LMB is a sensational car. If I were in that bracket, I'd buy the car for "interim" use until a 250GTO became available.
