wasn't each prospective buyer going to be individually 'vetted' by Ferrari and only then allowed into the club? Or was that the now usual BS marketing line? OTOH, maybe they already ran out of suc......buyers?
Does the "owner actually own the car at the end of X months/years? What then? (not street-legal, or yes.....)

james (who is not bidding on this item.......)

If you go to thier webpage they want $3,400,000 for the car.

One thing is for sure, the car certainly has more than zero miles as it had to be test driven, driven onto a truck, driven off of a truck, and driven around the dealership lot a bit. A undriven car should still have about 7 miles on it IMO, commonly refered to as "delivery miles".

It could be the dealership set Ferrari up w/ a bogus buyer, the buyer "backs out" and now they have the one FXX not spoken for. Of course the buyer could have really backed out as well, but barring some evidence of that I have my doubts. Simply put, the buyer could flip the car for a profit. Which brings up scenario #3, the car was sold to the buyer of record and it never moved an inch and he is flipping it via the dealer.

or it's just a fishing expedition. if the seller can find a buyer willing to shell out $3.4M - they'll figure out how to acquire a car.

I think only two people on the planet would actually drive that car if they owned it. It's not a car to everyone else; it's just a statue of a car.

I thought the owners had to sign a no-sales clause for a year or so?

Also: Delivery of this vehicle will be available in December!!

    Delivery will be available?

Is this yet another way to say that you are bidding on the opportunity to bid on it?

Man, I'm glad to have a dealer in town!

    eBay is HILARIOUS entertainment!

"Hello, FoH? Yes, I found this paper bag, walking to work today. I looked inside at $1.8M, so I'd like a FXX.......sure, I'll hold.............."

That's all you'd really need to do......forget all this bidding jazz.....

Exactly… I thought that delivery of these cars was in Maranello and that the potential buyers had to be ‘approved’ by Ferrari since they’re buying into the entire program.

I love the fact that after spending millions of $ for a car, the dealer still wants a "$795 dealer fee". :)

I heard this too...but what happens now. What does Ferrari do to people who flip cars after they have signed contracts not to. I know they are definately off the list for future super cars, but is anything else done (or can anything else be done)???

This is very real folks I know someone who is getting a 430 spider from them and they asked about the car ... they were told that the dealer is buying the spot from one of the people chosen by Ferrari and ...... you give them $3.4M and FXX must be taken in Italy. The purchaser must be fitted for the car and has the opportunity to be instructed by the Ferrari Race team to drive the vehicle at the Fiorano Test Circuit. Sounds like a great thing to do if you are someone who has unlimited $ . So ferrarigtofan the car at this point does have 0 miles on it .

And yea Ferrari does not care .. they let all of their dealers play games with flipping cars like 430's they just want their $$

..........and my brother-in law's friend was at a 40th surprise party for this prominent female RE Developer in New York. Everyboby was hidden in the dark when she came out of her room saying "Here poochy poochy! When the lights came on and everybody screamed SURPRISE, there she was at the top of the stairs, wearing absolutely nothing but some strategically placed peanut butter!

    She has since left town!
