Merged: Why??/Get a load of this paint job!! (Waikiki 348)

I remember back in the eighties seeing a gigantic lion's head painted on the front bonnet of a Boxer. At the time I thought it was cool (probably the owner thought the same); in hindsight I'm shivering.

 

Not that big a deal, it's only a car!
It might even look good with a camo paint job and a gun rack.

 

I once saw a Countach like that. It did look cool though.

 

I've seen the Diablo before at the gallery in Honolulu. IIRC someone posted here he charged $250k for the mural.

 

So, using your logic, if the car was a 355, and person who responded owned a "better" or more expensive Ferrari than a 355, then the response would be " no biggy, it is just a 355"

People seem to forget that when they were initially realeased, all Ferrari's were considered to be the best & most desired at the time. Simply because newer,better and/or more expensive Ferrari's have been released does not diminish the beauty of what came before.

Just because a person owns a "better" Ferrari than somoene else, does not mean that that person should belittle another because he or she can't afford or chooses not to afford a more expensive car. An associate of mine, who earns hundreds of millions of dollars a year, drives a 308 gtsi that is in less than stellar condition. While he could easily afford a stable of Ferrari's, he choses to drive a car he loves rather than to attempt to impress or portray a big shot.
All is relative and you may find yourself in a situation one day where you are the low man on the proverbial totem pole.

 

This begs the question, how do you tell the difference? Are there bunnies yawning and waking up for the sunrise, and tucking into bed for the sunset?

 

i would rather see elvis on a black 348 ..to simulate a black velvet painting...

Uh, I took the comment as a joke. Yeah, maybe some posters here are snobs but most are cool. I have a 348 and would like it even if someone else sincerely thought is was junk. Lighten up a little.

I think it looks pretty good. Don't know if I'd want to drive it, but it's his or her car, and it is different.
