I Messed up my Chrome Maya wheel. I dropped a lugnut on the lip of my back Maya and then I tried to polish it out and burned the chrome. Does anyone know a company that can repair it in perfect condition that is located in South Florida?

    Thanks!!!

How bad was the drop?! More of a huck? :( If it is true chromed I think you may have trouble, have you tried steel-wool and polishing compound?

It looks like the same affect if you buff paint to much. I used a high speed buffer on it.

Is Maya Chrome any different than cheap$hit chrome?

If not, and if it's multi-piece, you may as well buy another wheel.

I assume the wheel is aluminum? If it's "triple chrome" i.e. real chrome (as opposed to just polished) then you need the wheel stripped, repaired, and re-chromed. I would venture a guess that you're looking at maybe $150-200 to repair any damage to the wheel, or if it's just the chrome you are probably looking at $300-400 for a perfect show-quality chrome job. There's two chrome processed - hexavalent and trivalent. One is more yellowish and the other is more blue. The bluer (hexavalent) is a higher quality, nicer looking chrome and I imagine that's what the OEM wheel is, but hex is a bit harder to do and more expensive to get just right.

Make sure whomever is doing it will give you an assurance that it will be perfect (or else it will be re-done for free) *and* that it will have the same finish as it has now. I wouldn't go with the cheapest price as that would probably be a crap job possibly in trivalent.

If you were looking to ship I could recommend a few places. You could try calling Chris Rubini at Spyder Racing in Miami and see if they will hook you up with their chrome guy. They build show motorcycles and their chrome looks very nice... Chris may be willing to get it done for you in his next batch of chrome and save you a few $$$.
