    Hi guys.

As part of the Australian compliance for my UK spec 88.5 TR I have to change the speedometer and odometer from MPH to kilometer units.

The speedo was straight forward, dash out and change it over, removing the UK MPH unit.

    The odometer is more tricky.

Last November I got in touch with Keith at Eurospares UK, who located the metric gauges for the conversion. Oil temo, water temp, oil press, speedo and odometer.

Apparently the Testarossa odometer is not made any more but Keith located a Mondial one that looks exactly the same except for the smaller knobs.

Now I started to install the Mondial one, but the stickers on the two parts are different. Naturally the Part No.s are different, but there was one aspect of the sticker that concerns me. The Testa sticker reads : 1GIRO=0.622M where the Mondial sticker reads: 1GIRO=0.543MT

I puunched GIRO into Google translator and it means Turn in Italian. So maybe 1 turn = 0.620 meters. Like one revolution of the road wheel?

Standard rear tyre is a 255/50 - 16 which is 2078mm circumference and 481 revs per km.

My rears are 295/35 - 18 which are 2085mm circumference and 480 revs per kilometer.

I figure that this is a calibration issue, possibly based on wheel/tyre combination, and I'm sure that the Mondial had smaller wheels that the original 16" Testa wheels.

I'm running 512TR 18" wheels on my car, so there will be some speedo correction required, but can anyone shed some light on my days findings?
