It would mean a miracle really, lets be very honest here. Perez has only been reasonably close in 2 races so far, Baku (he kept a fairly close gap to Max until the tyre exploded) and France If the miracle does happen, I do feel bad for Perez, but he'll have to move over. And I'm convinced that Perez knows this and will do his duty. If Verstappen's tyre didn't go in Baku or had his tussle with Hamilton, I'm sure it would be a different case.
It was hard for Felipe in 2007, but he did it with no fuss, and he said they didn't even need to ask him.....glad he got the chance to win it again!
Checo, in lead would only gain victory if Max cannot at all. He has no chance if Max is P2 or even p3 and is close. They will swap him out and MAXImize the points for MAX. Period.
Agree. Just seems like a lack of effort. By comparison, the Alpha Tauri race posters this season have been really clever, referencing historic graphic iconography of the GP host countries. All the other teams graphic design shops are lagging by comparison.
I feel that things would have worked out differently if Sergio hadn't let Max by at the very start of Austin last race. Having his drinking water malfunction was another set back. Go Checo! But I also agree that he will recieve team orders to let Max by for the points. That is team work.
Disrespectful because such monuments deserve respect, they still have meaning for the descendants of the Mayas, Incas, Aztcs etc. You are Swiss I think what if someone parked an F1 car in a published drawing on the top steps of the most iconic cathedral in Geneva, Bern or Zurich (or your country if you are not swiss) ? How would you feel about that?
Oh Oh P&R, cultural sensitivities, its a mine field. If on the other hand the pre-columbian peoples of Mexico want to place a curse on Mercedes, I am fully onboard. Blessings for red cars also willingly accepted...
I'm not Swiss. Just had an idea: I will send this picture to an ex-girlfriend who is Mexican and come back here with the answer.
She is wise, she "gets" that people to whom these Pyramids are personal cultural heritage would be offended. Remember when an idiot China Ferrari dealer employee did doughnuts ON THE CHINESE GREAT WALL with a new Ferrari after a show a few years ago? Massive ruckus, big scandal in China, not only was he fired but the dealer faced all kinds or pressure and had to pay for cleanup of the rubber marks.
I'm the resident Swiss on here and I can tell you I would love to see a F1 car in front of the Grossmuesnter cathedral in Zurich. I didn't think that the pyramid poster was disrespectful. After all millions of tourists are climbing those sacred stairs everyday. I just found the poster lacking any kind of imagination.
Nice painting...until Mazespin errr...spins on it and floors the throttle, covering it with tire marks in first practice.
