I'd forgotten about those. Here's a sale example from 2014 of a 2004 MG SV-R (1 of 42).

OP. I think you will struggle here,however,am doing a bit of research in UK on the MG SV-R and also ,after the Qvale company sold the manufacturing rights to MG-Rover and they remodeled the car into the MG XpowerSV.

 

Further info suggests that there were approx 23 LHD out of a production run of 80 ish. One or two put together after the collapse of Rover,from spare parts. I also understand that there is a car for sale at Hemmings (LHD and US) One in UK ,RHD currently at £GBP 30 ish,but not a great example.

 

How could one legally import one of these? Is it rare enough to fit under the "show and display" exemption?

I see that the Hemmings car is a mangusta,and not an MG. Sorry about that. The Silverstone Auctions blurb about the car they sold in 2014 sums up production very well. They are rare,thats for sure.
