Hello All, I am spending the weekend with my family in Miami Beach, anyone in the area? can you guys reccomend places to visit and a couple of good restaurants? Thanks, Francisco P.S. My 355 is in the shop having the steering rack removed/rebuilt/installed
I just moved from there after THREE years: The best, IMO Macalusso's - 17th and alton (get the meatball salad), lunch or dinner Sushi Samba - lincoln road, great people watching (yellow tail taquitos, sea bass skewers) Miami Juice - 158th and Ocean, lunch and if you want to see a lot of F cars just walk ocean drive after 7pm between 5th and 17th there is NO good pizza in Miami Beach, but Sliceandice is very good in co**** grove, no tables stop by the collection and see every car known to man and tour the upstairs Ferrari Notes - eddie irvine drives his black enzo over venetian causeway, it is very loud, I think he smokes in it too a red/black 355 gtb runs around there too
Watch your mouth!!! Spris is by far my favorite pizza! Every time I go down there (once a month) I make it a point to go to spris. Dammit, now you got me hungry....
Hi Franc, I'm from Palm Beach and often find myself in the Miami area. Here's the best tip I can give you, aside from people watching there really isn't anything in South Beach I could recommend to you. It's a giant trap when it comes to food quality. They dress up the plates a bit, but the service is lacking and it's costly. Gratuity is already added to your ticket so be careful not to OVER-TIP! Your friends are right though. Check out Coconut Grove which is a nice ride down Brickell Ave (1) going south till it curves around going west and you'll run right into it. Gotta cross over 295 and turn off the first exit. If you don't mind the drive, I go to Ft. Lauderdale all the time. Pier 66 Restaurant is to die for! A bit pricey but worth every dime. Never been disappointed. It sets dockside off the Ft. Lauderdale inlet. Beautiful Yachts Docked there. Great atmosphere, live piano and sax. Figure about $50 a head plus drinks. Superb Quality Food, Service, & Ambience. Casual Dress is Okay but not shorts and flip flops. Enjoy the weather. I'm stuck in Oklahoma with no coat to keep me warm!
Also a casual place right on the ocean in Lauderdale called the Oasis on A1A. This place rocks! Fantastic Beach Side with great views, awesome food, and fine selection of bathing suits! $8-$20 a person, plus it's on a walking strip of excellent gift shops, and popular bars with live music. Real casual. Much better than South Beach. 20min. drive down A1A. Can't miss it!
Hehe, thanks Franc, let me know what you're looking for. I lived there for quite some time and I'm down there often. I'll steer you in the right direction.
