Do you like Miami Vice? Well...........

I ordered the CD "Miami Vice: The Complete Collection" last week and it arrived today. It is out of print but from what I've heard so far it is well worth picking this two disk set up if you can find it. I think it is all instrumental. If you remember the music they would play as the Daytona would drive the streets, it's all like that.......

    Great driving music

42 songs the code on the disk is 088112841-2

Ah yes...Jan Hammer!! I picked up an autographed copy of that CD when it first came out.

I remember first listening to him play on Live with Jeff Beck as a kid back in the mid 70's. In all honesty, HE was the reason I was a big MV fan.

Was thrilled when I attened his performance at the Montreal Jazz Festival in 1991.

    wonderful tunes...
The 2-disc set came out about a year and a half ago... about six months later a "sequel" was released - The Best of Miami Vice - a single CD - only for the REAL diehard MV JH fan as there are only 2 "new" tracks.. the rest are copied from the 2-disc set. The updated 2004 Crocketts Theme is very nice, as is "South Beach" a tune written for the series but never used. Whether 2 tracks are worth the price of another CD is up to you...
What lasted me for years was "Escape from Television" the original CD of JH's MV tunes released in 1987 but was kinda hard to find - dont think it was very widely released... and this was before the Internet was all that big. All of the tracks are on the Complete Collection, but aside from the handful of tracks on the official MV Sountracks albums it was the only game in town for almost 15 years...
    here are the covers.
Ebay usually has them all for pretty good prices....
