I heard a nero F430 Spider, but that was a while ago, long before production started. Still I don't see a better option so it's a safe bet. On the subject, I'm really looking forward to this movie. I loved the show, Mann is one of my favorite directors, he is the original creator of the show, and Jamie Foxx can't miss right now.

earlier there were rumors (somewhere in the Lambo section) that, a Lamborghini, not Ferrari was going to be used. if so, that would be blasphemous to everything we know and love of Miami Vice!

Crocket and Tubbs would never ride in a lowly Lambo.

You folks are funny...... as I recall the last versions were kit cars..... with Ferrari badges........ I for one think that when compared to that they will enjoy either........ I also heard that Jamie purchased a Gallardo for himself...... maybe to get a feel for it on an everyday basis.

    Take care

What? The TR was given to them by FNA....oh it was real.
    The Daytona's were kit cars.

Thank you for the clarification...... However with regards to the TR; I was also told that at least one was a Corvette based car....maybe for the action screens.

    Take care

There were some Testarossa replicas they use for certain action shots. The Daytona was one of the less convincing replicas I've seen. It didn't even had fly windows IIRC.

These idiots in Hollywood can't come up with anything original so they have to Rehash a TV show from the 80's. Personally I couldn't give a rats A$$ what Ferrari is in it as I am not going to watch it. Too bad that Jamie Foxx would take on this role as he is somewhat a serious actor now (thanks to his Oscar), I can see the no talent Colin Farrell but to bad about Foxx.

I do recall watching a few episodes (perhaps too often, as I taped them for the TR like the freak I am) and noting that there were things that didn't look right. I can't recall now what variances there were, but I believe they may have used a kit car for certain things.

I agree there is an utter lack of originality in Hollywood, but I think you might be a little to quick to prejudge in this case. Have you seen other Mann films? He is very serious director and I can assure this will not be another Dukes Of Hazzard. Like I said before, the show was originally his creation, so I think he is entitled to come along and breath new life into it.

Can't say I'm a Farrell fan, but "no talent" is a tad harsh. Besides, we're talking Sonny Crockett here, not Hamlet. ;)

Jason, I didn't realize Michael Mann is directing this as he is a very talented director (every seen Man Hunter?). As this was his show and Jamie Foxx is in it, you maybe right regarding my rush to judgement. Regarding Farrell, I just think he is one of the most overrated ego maniacs in Hollywood.

Great movie, I didn't even bother with the remake because it was unnecessary. I also love Heat, Collateral, and Last of the Mohicans. Never had any interest in Ali for some reason.

They are using a titanium 430 Spider-- got to see them filming a scene in it a few blocks from my home one night some months back...I would have thought they could have choosen a "louder" color than titanium, ie yellow or white like the original testa'
