Saw a bit about it on CNN. Apparently he really lost it! Looks like saying "******" was not the apex of it but telling the audience he had enough money to get them arrested was WAYYYY over the top.
well... Just keep in mind, you can hate anyone you want. It is probably best kept to yourself, though. Only one race gets to say whatever they want and he ain't that race
geez, what a friggin' nut. Makes you wonder what he was on.....I just about guarantee he was on something....
"What is the deal with Kramer?" - Jerry Seinfeld Next on very special Seinfeld, Kramer gets a visit from the NAACP. I wouldn't call this career ending, like everything else in Hollywood it will blow over within a year. He'll apologize & thatr will be the end of it. If anyone is listening to Howard Stern, I'm sure he's having a field day with this.
I'm not so sure. While others have gotten a pass for being drunk, high, under whatever influence at the time, he was ostensibly sober.....and it wasn't part of any kind of edgy bit he was performing.....he just kind of went insane
my guess is coke + personality disorder (anxiety?). Seriously, you have to have a death wish to go off like that in a crowd in LA, what is more surreal is that it was so public. I'm surprised no one rushed him, I thought the retorts from the crowd were extraordinarily civil given the circumstances. I wonder if people will take down their "The Kramer" posters...
O&A tried to get to this today but ran out of time. Sounds to me like he was doing his set and people wouldn't shut up so he went off on them in an outrageous way. As far as career ending, He really hasn't done much that I know of lately. Probably because he doesn't want to. He probably just does little thing he wants to do, like go and do a set every now and then at a club. BTW, the laugh factory had him back on stage the next day.
really, I'm surprised there weren't some brothas in the crowd that didn't charge the stage. Richards ought to watch his back, I bet he gets jumped by somebody, somewhere....
I'm sure it was someone in the crowd heckling him that set him off, it happens all the time. If the entire tape was played I'm sure it would be a completely different story.
Seems like he is a little out of it. But he defintely can get one of the bumper stickers that says 'Aint Skeered'! BT
Just saw it. Mad Mel has a worthy compadre now. To go this much over the top I'd guess he was pretty much under the influence of a stimulant of some kind...maybe just too much coffee?
...yeah, maybe he was reverting to that Seinfeld episode where Kramer was awarded that lifetime supply of coffee.
From the man himself, Jerry Seinfeld: "I am sick over this. I'm sure Michael is also sick over this horrible, horrible mistake. It is so extremely offensive. I feel terrible for all the people who have been hurt."
He should have taken a page from the old Seinfeld show and gone to the heckler's work and heckled them there. It is all fun and games until someone loses a pinky toe... BT
I worked with him for a week and while I didnt witness any racial slurs he was an egomaniac who belittled people all the time. Shame because I love his work..Transylvania 6500 was the high point
Well, I've met Michael Richards, and found him to be like the proverbial good, quiet, soft-spoken neighbor who kept to himself. They probably said the same thing about Son of Sam though.
