Just was sent this.... WOW I've also heard that Risi would have a very special 3rd driver at Sebring myself, so could it actually be true?
No. Hate to burst anyone's bubble. Read the Michael Schumacher interview thread. He is not going racing in any other series as he does not feel capable, his words. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137373139&postcount=1
Highly unlikely. Ferrari and Schumacher are both from Europe, and his racing comeback surely won't be with a private team in a US race hardly anyone knows over here.
not for the series... but for one race on US soil. at this point, its not much more then a very interesting rumor Also, I don't see MS ruling out driving for anybody except ferrari F1 competitively in the interview
DSC, Planet LeMans, Risi, ALMS sites all have nothing - what's your source of "hearing myself"?? I guess we'll find out who's driving for who when the entry list comes on line. The 908's will be there - that's good. Many teams commencing testing soon before actual test days of 28-30 January. Ron, John & I will be at Sebring that Friday afternoon - see you there?? Carol
I would not say it is impossible. Micheal is very find of the US and Florida. Spends some time here every year. Loves the fact people don't know him on the street. Sebring has history and he may opt to just simply have fun for one race. Giving his involvement with the factory at this time I would say rather unlikely though.
Could happen. Not sure if he can just show up for a competitive race and enter like that? A rumor like this is too easy to spread around and gain traction without any possible merit.
Entry list thus far for the winter test has #61 with (2) TBA's and #62 with Mika and Jaime. Provisional entry list for the 12 hour has the same thing. Not showing a third driver. Entry lists so far for a variety of series has fantastic racing for this year. Twenty-three P1's for Catalunya LMS race, other classes big too. Carol
Bubba's trailer park in Sebring received a booking for a 300 foot mobile home with helicopter pad on the roof for 10 days in March : bubba is very confused but promised to keep the cockroaches in check for the man with a German accent who booked. (((just kidding)))
Risi is factory-backed, but the 2007 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring didn't that close of a finish in GT2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjWo8VdMb8I
MS is not going racing. He stated that in his interview. He won't even do the DTM, let alone drive an F430 at Sebring.
he'll tell that the company were aiming too high, should he fail to meet the travel time between the airport and the track...
