I use them on the 458. Great tires, lots more grip. But performance wise they fall off quicker than street tires.

I get several track days 4-6 track days depending on how hot they get.

Kudos if tracking the F8, I haven’t tracked mine yet. I’ve seen only one on track briefly during an FCA event.

  4. I have them on my Pista.

They heat cycle out very quickly, 15 cycles tops.

What's more, if you want optimal lap times (i.e., max grip) then the sweet spot is around cycle 4-6, after that lap times drop off pretty quick.

Good tire, but it has its limitations as do all tires with soft compound.

    Thx for the responses.

I plan on using them for 2-3 track days in 2023, as well as a few spirited mountain passing drives. Also I’m only going to make the switch (from the current MSS I have on now) when the weather gets warmer (in NorCal that means around April).

I’ll probably keep them on for 6 months and then switch back to the MSS from November to April. Then repeat in 2024.

how does that sound to you?

You should be okay. Just keep an eye on the Cup 2s, especially the outside edge where the sidewall meets the tread. And that ‘some tread left’ doesn’t guarantee a great tire.

I got tired (no pun intended) of constantly swapping and bought a second set of rims. I keep Cup 2s on one set and road tires on the other.

But you’re probably ok doing it twice per year.

I actually have another set of wheels too, but from an aesthetic perspective, I just like one much more than the other.

If I end up changing them a few times a year, it'll probably make sense to put the Cup2s on the black rims and the MSS on the diamond.

See pictures. I'd rather keep the diamond ones.

Just an FYI, the owners manual does not recommend putting the Cup sport 2s on the standard, non forged wheel.

@Petrolhead#32 that’s a beautiful garage. What make and model scissors lift is that? How was the install?

I am looking for one (possibly two) for my cars……

thx a lot. The model is the Autostacker. I really like it. I have it on 220V and it raises up in 30 seconds. $10k + installing fees of about $1500 depending on where you live of course.
