They feel and perform the same to me. Both have excellent feedback and crisp steering feel. Not as sticky as the pilot cups.

What turns me off about the pss is they weigh several pounds more than the ps2. Ps2 are light like the pcups.

So its a mystery to me why the newer pss are so heavy.

Im coming off stock 430 Bridgestone tires. They seem rough and not as smooth and grip as a pair of ps2 i had on a Porsche. Any idea how much better the PSS wll be over the stock tires and the weight?

    B 22/31 ...ps2 21/28 ...pss 22/28 pounds front/rear

Looks like pss vs ps2 for 430 is close to similar weights. Id go with pss in your application. Pss is def better than Bs

On my 997gt3 weight differences were greater. My 360 is on Bridgestone.

If you track the pss has a hair better grip than ps2. On street no difference ( to me)

both are great but I always feel the pss last the longest
maybe the ps2's are more fun

I've had both on my Cayman S for street and track use. The SS definitely feels superior. It is more progressive at the limit and no doubt stickier. The fact that they last longer and are cheaper is icing on the cake.

Speaking of ps3 tires....ordered front and back...got to tire shop and checked DOT #'s..the back tires were manufactured in Nov 2013...fine...the fronts April of 2013. Shop reordered to get newer and they came in with same date. Would you guys accept the fronts being 8 months older than the backs? Michelin is telling the shop (or they are telling me) no way to get any new tire because "the stacks are thousands of tires" and they won't search out a newer tire. What do you guys think? Anal or justified refusal of front tires?

Brett- That should cause no problems at all. They were likely in Michelin's storage area until recently, so out of UV and other degrading tire environments.

The MPSS is the best street tire out there for Ferraris, unless you want a DOT track tire that will wear like an art eraser. 599 owners state it is much better at putting down the power than other OEM tires.

I went from older Bridgestones on 18" to to PS2s on 19" CS rims last year.

Not sure it's because I'm more comfortable with the car, but they seem less sticky with a tendency to washout on moderate cornering.

Art eraser may not be such a bad idea.

Agreed. I was at the UK launch of the MPSS at Silverstone and tested the tyre back to bac with all the major competitors. It was head and shoulders above everything else.

I have a set on my 430 and they are a joy to drive with.

There just no comparison between PS2 and PSS IMHO. I had PS2 on my Porsche 997 and it was all over the place on a damp track. Switched to PSS and was pleasantly surprised that it performed reasonably well on a damp track and impressed that the wear factor is 300. Lots of grip in the dry. Much better than the P Zero erasers as previously mentioned. I'm on my second set of PSS on the 997. My new F430 ride came with P Zero's and can't wait to wear them out.
