    Hi, All-

For those in need of replacement Michelin TRX tires for their 400i, I can happily report that Longstone Tyre in London has received last week's production run. Both Longstone and Coker Tire have been out of stock, and Michelin builds these in small batches and with less frequency.

The previous owner of my '83 400i had installed a wonderful set of TRX-GT's of the incorrect size. I really like the ride and handling qualities of this tire, but their lower aspect ratio place the exhaust system in danger and cause the odometer to read inaccurately. My new tires arrived today from Longstone, and the current exchange rate actually made the purchase from the UK a better deal... although still a jaw-dropping one! Longstone ships via express mail, and this service was included in with my purchase. I can't wait to try them out on the road.

Is there anything unusual in the way these mount to the rim that I should look out for?

An interesting aside, about a month ago I spotted a new-old-stock set on eBay being sold by a fellow in Finland that purchased them for his BMW 6-Series, only to realize that they were the wrong size for his car. I bid on them, but the price went much higher than I was willing to pay for 10 year-old rubber. As it turns out, my TRX-GT's are exactly what he needs, and I'll be sending them out to him as soon as mine are mounted.
