How did this whiney little skater get away with talking the Olympic Commission into letting her come to Italy to compete? She knew damn well she had medical issues and was not at her peak to enter into the games. If she was a real 'sport', she would of satyed home and let a younger skater go. Now Hughes has got to dig out of the East Coast and get to the games.
SHAME on Kwan for this one!

"should of stayed," that doesnt even begin to sound right. (should be should have stayed.

also, im sure we dont know everything about her condition and her thoughts about her health as she was coming into the games.

No love for Genghis Kwan? There's nothing wrong with giving it a go, especially since this was her last chance at Olympic Gold. I druther her at least trying, instead of throwing away all those years of top level training by not even showing up.

Shes one of the best skaters of all time based on her achievements. I feel bad for the girl.. Her life's work. Her ultimate goal.

Thats like Dan Marino being the greatest QB of all time, holding like every significant record in the book---but no ring!

I would have done the same thing. News says she cant skate because of a different injury she incurred on Saturday during practice. True or not, you decide. I dont blame her for petitioning.

Good to show up, good to bow out early enough to let Hughes get herself sorted out in Torino before competition begins.

Yeah, it was a little "Iffy" how she got in but she has definitely come correct!

Well, her 4th place finish at Worlds is the only reason the US has 3 spots in the Olympics and not 2. She had every right to give it a shot and she did the right thing by pulling out over a week in advance when she reinjured her ppulled muscle.

Whiney? She has faced the entire subject with the utmost class IMO.

That said, I'm sick of hearing about the whole situation...
