Hi chaps Had the pleasure of a short ride in a rather special F40 on Tuesday... The car is a non cat, non adjust, has uprated Brembo brakes, a straight through exhaust and has been fettled by Michelotto, and is producing a tad over 700 bhp.. Only a leisurely drive out, but I stuck my go pro to the back, right near the exhausts... what a heavenly sound, both when you're on and off the throttle, there's nothing that comes close.... Here we go: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B65QPEFxir4]RIDE: 720 bhp F40 LOUD acceleration sounds | Part 2 - YouTube[/ame]
Are you sure about all of that? That pic shows a seemingly stock F40. If you have the uprated Brembo brakes, they don't fit on the stock wheels. Ask me how I know... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, I was obliged to do the same on my stradale F40 in the past, then when we change brakes on my F40 GTE for full 575 GTC brembo brakes, this was the same aspect, so? By the way, who said that a turbo engine cannot deliver nice loud sound?
I am also not sure how they get the claimed 720 HP without either adjustable boost (short lived!) or it being a complete LM engine?
I will speak to the owner and find out the details. I know the body panels and wheels are away being refurbed so it would normally look a lot different... It was more the work Michelotto have done I understand....
Not! for this kind of output power you must have a full engine preparation, including exhaust, but most certainly LM turbo modification,..... full preparation!
Or the LM turbos, which look completely different. Although those are hard to see with the decklid closed.
I dont think this car has 720 bhp. It sounds like opened exhaust but nothing seems wilder than a customer Euro F40...ECU mapped perhaps? But nothing close to 720 Horsepower...
