Wolverhampton fired Mick McCarthy - he put on a good face, but you could see he was really emotional. A little teary-eyed perhaps.

Shame, I liked Mick, but the results weren't there.

Possibly - he was called in by the owner...doesn't sound good.

Stupid decision by Wolves and IMO removed any chance they had of staying up. The current bottom 3 are going down.

If they sack him then it's clear Chelsea are a complete joke of a club. It's well documented that sacking Ancelotti and hiring Villas-Boas cost them nearly £30 million. They have a very talented young manager who is attempting to change the style of play at Chelsea for the first time since Mourinho took over and who inherited an ageing squad that needs massive re-structuring. If the Russian didn't think there would be a season or two transition for all this to happen then the guy is as retarded as he looks. They are about three class players from being an incredibly strong side again. They need a Right back, an attacking/creative playmaker (who it seems will be Hazard) and maybe a winger (although they bought that young Belgium winger who Villas-Boas didn't want).

Agreed - whomever they get as a replacement isn't keeping them from relegation, and I can't see too many high level candidates clamoring for the position.

Too bad about Mick. I likes him too. He was a very colorful guy and a straight shooter. The Wolves fans started it though with all of those "Mac Out" signs.

As for Chelsea - anything could happen. I don't see Abramovich as the most patient person.

Well Wolves find themselves in a predicament - their McCarthy replacement targets have all rebuffed them. 4 different managers have said "no" (including Neil Warnock).

Should be interesting to see how the league shakes out over the next few weeks with AVB and Wenger on thin ice.

Wolves has a little egg on its face - looks like Steve Bruce is their man (unless he turns them down...)

TC is off to a rough start with a 5-0 loss against Fulham. I wish him and the team the best but I don't think all the issues were with the coach.

FYI - 2 nice goals by Deuce in that match too.

Yes, Wolves were pretty lost in that one. Pogrebnyak hat trick, Dempsey near hat trick, Fulham with ease. Big Deuce fan here, so I'm happy.

AVB sacked - no surprise there!
