Game Spot FS 10 Info And Demo Release Info

That there is all the info you need. Its going to be a real burden on my system with all the new stuff. Moving cars, more real looking scenery..etc. But its going to be a really good game. Still having fun with Xplane 8 still.

Demo of FS 10 is set to release tomorrow. Apparently its going to be based in St Maarten and you will have 5 missions to complete..that sort of thing. Ill see how it runs on my computer. Will definitly have to upgrade again.

Wow. I thought Century of Flight was good. In viewing the link, the latest version seems even better! I loved the Before / After shots.

With this level of detail and realism, seems like a necessary buy.

    Best.

They've finally removed the 100,000ft altitude limit and implemented a realistic changing in the colour of the atmosphere. In FS2004 the sky is still bright blue at 100k ft, and the Earth as flat as a pancake. In real life it would be a very very dark purple, with the curvature of the Earth clearly visible. By the low 100k ft range the sky is pitch black.

I think the highest I've seen someone slew in the demo was 2 million ft (~600km), which is in medium earth orbit.

I guess this means the Earth is no longer flat like it was in all previous Flight Sim releases (to prove it, try going to the poles...).

Perhaps MSFT are paving the way for spaceflight simulation. It would make alot of sense; rather that trying to release a separate space sim which would have a very limited market size, they can integrate it into MSFS, and take advantage of all the wonder features it already has.

They'll have alot of work to do if they want to get the orbital mechanics up to the level of Orbiter Spaceflight Simulator, but they already have an Earth environment beyond what a freeware program like Orbiter will be able to come up with in the next 10 years at least.
