This might be for the Classic section - move at will.....

I have spent considerable time and $$ doing all the upgrades/services that a BBi requires - but in one fell swoop as I want this car to be damn near perfect and as reliable as I can make it. I just need to have my WUR's rebuilt/recalibrated before I button up the rest of the motor and put it back in the car. I hope to have this thing ready to fire up in about one month and know that it will likely be far out of adjustment as a result of most of it being apart, plus lots of new parts (ignition/cis). I am expecting to have lots of inital problems since so much was "touched" and hence will be more variables than usual to methodically sort through.

I would like to bring it to someone who really knows how to set one of these up properly and has the equipment to do so (an exotic or even Ferrari generalist won't do). It might be overkill, but I want the fuel pressures tested - hot and cold - vacuum checked, idle adjusted properly from side to side, etc... Can someone suggest an injected Boxer specialist that they have reliable/firsthand knowledge of? I am willing to flatbed/drive the car anywhere within a few hundred mile radius of Phila.

    Thanks

Arnie Poundstone at Ferrari of Washington has, for many years, personally maintained an injected Boxer (among many other Boxers) that sees both street and track use. In your shoes, I'd give him a call, 703.478.3606, see if he sounds like your man.

You should definitely consider Gran Touring in Laurel, Maryland. They are very hard to get into, but do phenomenal work. They service all of Bill Marriott's cars as well as quite a few other notable F-Car collectors.

3014706464, ask for Kendall or Chuck.

Call Eddie Karam at 610.659.1983. He has owned and sold many Boxers over the years and will know the best Boxer tech in the Philly area.

Thanks all for your input. I am pretty well plugged into the locals, but thought a boxer specialist was in order given all the bad tune-ups I have read about with these cars - and I have nothing to compare a good/poor running boxer against. Wish I were closer to some of the pros on the board, but I now have a few good leads in which to "interview".

I have heard good things of Arnie in Washington as well. IIRC he and I went to 360 school together. At Boston Sports Cars I know the founder rather well from the old days when he worked at FNA and I would think them a good bet as well. Ken would not hire average people.
