I think you just got a bad run on the materials, it happens on all brands. My C7 Z51 dash, leather etc. is excellent and I do not have your issues. I am looking forward to the ME.

    Same here.
Kind of pointless to gripe about a two generation old interior; unless we're worried that they'll be putting c6 interiors in the ME car.

    I'm gonna say it here.

I really hope these guys pull it together. The idea that we (the USA) can make a state- of-the-art, affordable , reliable and not ridiculously priced mass-produced mid engine sportscar is amazing. And if they make a Caddy version. even better.

IF they do it, I'll be right there trying to get one.

I don't see us as griping. I see it as issues that have stopped many of us from getting one or keeping it very long. These are issues GM needs to address. Ignoring them will hurt what they are trying to do and that's not a good thing.

Your problems with your stingray are well documented, but I'm not aware of anyone else that had the problems you encountered. I believe you bought a very poor example. I've said it before, and I'm sure it's sounds like a broken record, but I'm not comparing the c7 to a much more expensive euro; can't, never owned one. I can compare it to the couple of c6's that I owned, and the difference is obviously massive. I like it.

Regardless of what some of you think about the quality of vette interiors, the value will be appreciated by those that don't necessarily have the means for a car with no compromises. I'll bet even the most well heeled, discriminating shopper will be more than a little interested in the ME, even if the interior isn't a major departure from the c7.

I'd love to see a Challenge Stradale or Scuderia style stripped out interior model. Of course, Chevy would have to charge quite a premium for the honor of having a far less well appointed interior. :D

Interesting reading on the pushrod Ls motor.
It's architecture is apparently what allows for a low hood and cowl on the fe vette.

One way to keep a low cowl when going to a taller bulkier dohc tt setup is to put the motor behind the driver.

The small block Chevy is not a sexy engine but it IS a great engine. Compact, light, reliable as an anvil.

Back to the quad cam debate.
Over atmercury marine the most na hp they get from a 8.2 big block pushrod motor is 565 warranties hp.

Now they make a 7.0 small block quad cam motor with 759 hp.

You haven't even mentioned the 'silly tax' yet ie. paying over list price...

The early adopters may be disappointed as the big picture comes into sharper focus later...

Very true. Look what the buyers of the 05-06 ford GTs were charged. Only good thing about buying a new Ferrari.

Anyone who pays over list on ANY Corvette is just impatient. Corvettes are and will always be VOLUME sports cars.

Really hope the rear fenders are not that high. Reminds me of the 430. Way too high to cover the wheels and tires. Goony looking.

I think that's the shape - in the side shot, looks too much like a FE Corvette.

From the front/side view, it looks awesome. I've heard some say it will look like a McLaren P1, but I'm not seeing it...

I was told the same thing, IMO possibly the greatest looking car I’ve seen is the P1. Perhaps those at GM are being too generous with their design lol.

I’m not sure how representative this car is if the final design, but that car has huge overhangs both front and rear. Why is there so much bodywork behind the rear wheels? Are they putting in a trunk behind the engine big enough for two sets of golf clubs? I suppose that’s one way to make a mid engine car practical enough for the masses.
