I think this is a reasonably accurate rendering. I must say, it looks pretty good! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Funny you should say this. I watch an old Jay Leno Garage video last night and a guy had a Dino with a F430 engine in and I was digging it. Then I stopped and thought how many purist would roast him for it? Jay said it was the PERFECT combination for that car and I would tend to agree. Hell, its his money so let him do what he wants.
If that is it I hate it. Something is off from the doors back. Guess I would have to see it in person which always makes a difference.
Exactly. It does have some of the C7 influence on the front and some of the Camaro influence on the back. I'm not convinced yet you can weld those two together. But its got the right proportions. It's all in the details now - and the price.
Agreed! If they want the vette loyal to buy it skip the V-6 turbo and ZR1 price tag. The base C8 has to be near the base C7. I'm hearing DCT gearbox. The GM/Ford 10speed is proving in cars now that it is working very well. Slushboxes are bullet-proof and cheap. The 10speed shifts faster than the posche PDK! I want the 10speed and a 8cylinder motor with no displacement on demand/active fuel management junk.
As an owner of a 10 speed slush box (which is great in its application), no way over a d c t in a corvette. Again, cheap is relative in the world of manufacturing, cost per unit. You can get that transmission in a Camaro, if you like.
I am getting old. This thing does not interest me in the least and I am a die hard vette guy. Actuallly I am thinking about getting a C5Z (my favorite of all) and building the car I want. I am tired of all the electronics and crap. I remember when distracted driving was working the tape player and we did not have cup holders. Wonder if in 20yrs there will be a chasing classic cars of the 70's & 80's variety?
I like it I have owned many corvettes but the C7 never really did it for me .. I owned multiple cars in every other generation but for what ever reason I just can't get excited about the c7... but I do like this mid engine...I hope they keep the price right they need to start near the corvette base they can then offer different packages .. I hope they do not put a V6 in but would love to see that new Cadillac 4.2ltier overhead cam in v turbo 550hp engine......

To be fair it was Chevrolet saying that they weren't going to be releasing anything. But if Corvette were to be a completely separate brand they would still be telling the truth... Edit: just saw who posted this, so I'm pretty sure I'm wrong!

^^^^ So, they haven't admitted they're going to MAKE a mid-engine Corvette and some guy (the old "unnamed source") says the car they haven't admitted to is delayed 6 months. Got it. And GM Authority says THIS is the reason it's not going to be shown at Detroit, even though someone here at FC (intitials j*2...) told us MONTHS ago the car would not be shown at Detroit.
