I seriously doubt it has a manual box but if they did it, they would stand the world on its head.

I only hope it looks nothing like that photoshop.

    I can't see 700 hp though. More like 500.

+1 The rear of the current car looks like an afterthought off of a stillborn Trans Am. :) They could do well with losing the current corporate styling cues IMHO and return to classic round lenses. Technically, the car is very good...

I agree on the taillights. I had a C7 3LT and the interior design and quality was.... terrible. Its the one area they really need to still focus on. Paint was also horrific.

Maybe with a car of this price they will finally convince the bean counters a few extra pennies spent will make it worthwhile.

It would have to offer as much hp as the ZR1 you'd think?

Maybe... but I think for cost reasons they will do an upgraded version of what they put in the C7 which has about 450.

I don't trust the bean counters at Chevy. They always find a way to screw up a good idea. As long as 25,000 people a year who never sat in a Porsche end up buying a C7, Chevy will continue to screw it up

    But hope springs eternal...

They are going to offer a base model and a top of the line very high performance model. There will be a big price difference between the two.

Corvette is NOT a Porsche competitor, anymore than it's a Ferrari competitor. Those complaining about the C7 interior are just parroting the same old, tired thing that runs rampant on the internet. Material quality is quite good, seats are excellent, etc... The C7 interior is very nice, easily as nice as BASE 911 interior (if you can find a 911 WITHOUT at least $10K worth of interior enhancements). Now, if you want to compare it to the alcantara wrapped, carbon fiber laced, OPTIONAL interior of a 911 or 488 (which at the cost of those interiors, you're a third of the way to ENTIRE base Stingray), then that's just wrong. And for you guys wanting round tail lights back, well, do you want hidden headlights back also. And seriously, someone thinks the C7 rear end looks like a Trans Am rear end (all the geniuses initially compared them to the Camaro, which was wrong also)? Unbelievable.

Really? That would insane I can't see 1000 hp. I was thinking same engine as ZR1 modified to sit in the middle of the car. If the car was available for 150k with 700+ hp and a weight of about 3500 pounds I'd 100% get one. I picked up a new Camaro ZL1 and it's honestly blown me away with how good it is to drive. Best value right now imo. Chevy is killing it right now.

Sorry but my 3LT interior looked like parts were elephant skin. That's not a joke. The paint was so bad it was embarrassing to show. Parts of it looked like someone painted over a pizza.

The quality of the Corvette is not even close to on par with the cheapest Porsche.

Until the public finally gets wise and stops buying these "American icons" is the day maybe Chevy will learn it's lesson. Americans need to do better. Excusing them for what they are will only promote the same.

Not the case at all with my Z06.
Excellent interior, leather fine, seats most comfortable that I own, no issues with paint at all.

Same with my 2014 Stingray. Nicely done, paint is not Aston Martin level, but certainly above average compared to what I see in most production cars in terms of orange peel (my father in law's new Lexus RX makes my Stingray look like a custom paint job.)
Point is that just about every car company has issues with paint quality consistency. There was a well documented LaFerrari that required a very pricy paint correction by Todd C....should we think all LaFerraris needed that?

Picking on Corvette quality has become a national past time in certain circles. I do tire of this notion that the Corvette faithful are a bunch of mindless dupes who accept anything. The current Corvette is a GREAT car, and very nicely turned out. If someone disagrees, that's their prerogative....but painting the Corvette faithful as herd of sheep is no more correct than labeling all Ferrari owners as a bunch of egocentric boys who are afraid to put miles on their cars.

I'm curious as to why you bought a Stingray in the first place, given your complaints about aspects of the car you were aware of prior to buying.

Really sucks that your car had bad paint. I've seen brand new c-6's that really should have never left the factory with so much orange peel. I've yet to see a c-7 with a really bad paint job, and my black '14 has zero orange peel, or any other paint defects.

I love the interior of my car, but I'll admit that I'm comparing it to other cars in its price range, say mid-seventies. I don't know what the Kalahari dash cost me, but I think it looks amazing. As I understand it, it's no longer an option; a mistake IMHO.

I really am interested in what made you buy one, as well as why you didn't keep it, assuming you didn't move on because of the tail lights, or interior design. :D

    That's it! That's the every-so-often news trifecta:

    New discovery about Amelia Earhart.
Update on the identity of DB Cooper.
And here comes a mid-engined Corvette.

    :)

Matt, you might want to swap out "And here comes a mid-engined Corvette." with "I saw and took a fuzzy pic of Bigfoot" in your trifecta stories cause the mid-engine Vette is coming. :)

    Texas!

The paint on my 2004 Stradale was so bad the undercoating was visible in places. The difference was the Stradale was cool. The Sting Ray, however, looks like a pissed off insect.

Just keep telling yourself how cool you are as you watch the tail lights of the "insect" disappear into the distance.

I'm sure it is, but I've been hearing about it for 40 years.
