hey guys, So I came back from a week long holiday and wanted to drive my 430. After Switching on the Main switch. I noticed that the mileage of the car went from ~1000 to 5555555. I closed the switch and opened it again, started the car. and still the same- 5555555 anyone know whats going on. or how can i solve this problem. - Should i try disconnecting the wires from the battery and re-connecting them? Thanks.
S H I T, looks like you just lost tens of thousands bucks. That pretty high mileage, hard to resell. Are you sure that no one was driving your car during your absence?Looks like someone made world trip I am sorry, i am just joking since i am sure its just some easy to fix issue.I dont know solution, but i am sure someone will help you. Good luck.
I don't think this is something that you should play around with. I would take it ASAP directly back to the dealer and or an authorized ferrari service dept. You want as much documentation as you can get showing that the odo is a malfunction and not deliberate. Someday you may want to sell it and the milage issue could seriously come back and bite you on the a##when it comes to resale. Worst case scenerio. Why would someone want to buy your car with "supposed milage issues" unless you can prove them to be unfounded. Even with the proper paperwork you might have to discount the price to move it quickly. The longer you wait it becomes more of a problem. If the odo refuses to move someone can make the case that you have put lots of extra miles on the car and no way of proving otherwise. Unlike the others,I would take this very seriously. If you can fix it yourself no harm no foul and no paper trail to show there even was a problem. Hope what ever you do works out.
+1 I've heard that that's what happens when you disconnect the sensor to the gearbox........maybe trying to stop the speedo/odo working!
duskybird. Your comment was one of the helpful ones, thanks for that. I tried driving the car, that didnt help. So basically the dealer is taking care of it. I also want to thank Greg Calo for his support. Best,
Guys, i was joking in this threat and now i have same problem on my 360 I did not drive car for 2 weeks, main switch was off. I was also charging battery last night. Today i turned key and i see mileage 555555..... I drove car for 20 km and it did not help, now i have about 555630.... I am curious how the problem can be solved. Anyone can help?
Who says Karma doesn't exist? LOL I guess 55555 is the mileage default incase the eproms memory is erased. I guess it is stored somewhere else so they can bring it back. Mine will be next, you watch..
