"That's the way you judge a car, man, when you start it up. It's just the same thing. I mean, I drive a Ferrari—not to be cute, but because I dig it. I'd rather drive a ten–year–old Ferrari than one of them new things—they don't go."

    Mailes Davis 1969

And the master in his Ferrari 275 GTB (?). Any more information about his F car ?

If this is his 275 GTB then its #07135 or #10669 (later rebodied to a NART Spyder)
He was also supposed to be the original owner of 308 GTSi ZFFAA02A5A0033683
He was also the original owner of Lusso #5875

This looks like it could be 10669. A red 4 cam sold by Michael Sheehan in early 2002 for the crazy price of 289,000. A similar car is now for sale in europe for 785,000 by Gregor Fisken. Wow, I guess that would have been a good investment back then. Nice to see that people are realizing that the 275 gtb is really a great car,not to mention the last real hand built true Ferrari. I wish I realized this back in 1985 when all I wanted was a 308GTS and it was the same price as a 275gtb. Live and learn.

I believe Mile's GTB was yellow. I saw it at Francois Sicards who was restoring it a few years ago. It had a bullet hole in it. I had heard a story that Miles shot the car when it wouldn't start at some point, but I don't know if it's true. Yale

Check out Ferraris-online.com in the cars sold a few pages in. I am sure many vintage ferrari owners felt like shooting their car at some point.

I remember quite a few years back on 60 minutes? that he was being interviewed and he was standing in front of a silver TR.

I attended the sale when Harry Finer went out of the Maser business (Birdcages, including the rare rear-engined one, etc.) and Davis was there. As I am a hard-core be-bopper, I tried to engage him in conversation, but without success. I heard later that he was famous for that--if he didn't know you, fuggetaboutit. The fact that he was even there indicates that he was a real car guy.

Well, gentlemen. What could you expect from a man who truly understood music? Something other than an understanding of music? Some music rolls and, some music rolls.

As I found out one fine day, he lived right next to Malibu Surfrider Beach.

I don't recall any encounter with a male of the species to be nearly as disarming as getting *The Stare* from Miles Davis when he exited his garage driving his Ferrari.

Other than the 60 Minutes segment (search Miles Pimpin on Youtube), the only other period pic I've found of Miles with his Testarossa.

Another one from his years in Malibu. According to my records, Miles bought the TR from Alberto at Wide World of Cars in March of 1987, and sold the 308 back to Alberto later that year.

That's the yellow 308 that he had serviced but refused to pay for a new clutch (which was completely shot). Car was returned to Miles' residence where he proceeded to berate the fellow who returned the car, only for Miles' mind to be changed right there and the car taken back for a much needed new clutch. Miles, did you think we were joking about your clutch being shot?

And for the record, Miles was a great writer of music and manager/magnet of extremely talented other musicians, but a poor technical player having never ever been a good technical player. Miles claims that was his MO (hence the tune 'So What'), but I say he just didn't have the chops nor gift to make it to that level that Lee Morgan or Freddie Hubbard or the like had.
