I've had several several young people in their 20s and 30s, even 40's, who like my car and would like to drive it for the thrill of driving a Ferrari, I would be happy to obliged them but but when I asked them "can you drive a stick shift,"they say " no," or "what is that?"?
Where do we go from here?
    Nowhere.
I guess the art of driving a manual transmission car in the US is gone to the ages!

I've read lots of stories and come to a conclusion that having a manual transmission does make ones' car theftproof these days.

How about this- “I can’t get my car open - I left the dome light on all night - my key fob will NOT open the car!”

There are a few... both of my sons (16 and 18) can drive manuals. We no longer have any automatics. My wife hates them, too.

I was speaking with a young guy at work that has several manual vehicles, he said they're really cool with his age group--25 or so.

    We're not entirely safe yet.

My 22 years old girl asked to be taught how to drive a stick. She grew up in a family with 6 sports cars (Porsches and Ferraris) and she was going to learn it one way or another. I taught her on a Mini Cooper S with a 6-speed.

Teaching my 15 year old step-daughter to drive a 5 speed first (older car) so she'll know how to drive a manual. She'll probably end up inheriting my wife's automatic for a regular car, but she'll learn on a manual.

And, apparently, from all the "gated" Ferrari videos I've seen, when I drive my car, it's supposed to give me a very satisfying "clickey clack" when I change gears, mine doesn't do that. Is it broken? Lol!

    PS
No, the shifter is properly adjusted, and I don't slam it against the gate when I shift it, because I know what I'm doing, what a bunch of dumbasses! I really think they put a mic on the shifter and record the sound of it clacking , when shifted improperly.

Smooth as fast, and fast is smooth!

Its funny I don't hear it as well when shifting, but when my wife recorded us driving you can hear it on playback. maybe just getting old LOL
