    ... not a good idea, considering the seller will be charged like $5,000,000 by eBay if it sells for that much. I think the bidders probably had their accounts hijacked

    That's the idea. The seller in this auction is not the actual owner of the vehicle, and is trying to scam legit buyers, so the peoeple who know the auction is phony are bidding up until the scammer can't afford his listing fees and is booted off of ebay, or at least forced to close the auction.
