Another new concours has been getting bigger and better every year. Last year they had Ferrari as a featured marque. They have brought back the vintage Ferrari class and are making it a yearly event. Here are some of the cars brought in, many directly from Pebble Beach wich is held the week before. Several of the organizers at this event are tied in with Pebble Beach as either judges or restorers. Close to 200 cars are on display every year. They seem to be headed in the right direction.

Here are a few photos from the event:

A few are from last year but most are from this year. Duesenberg/Alfa were the main features this year with the vintage Ferrari class also added as a regular feature.
They seem to also like rare and unusual sportscars at this event. The Bug and Talbot Lago were nice to see. You don't see type 44 dual cowls nearly as much as type 35's, with this one having a rather interesting body.

I remember your car. Chris does get around with his superb Superamerica. The 212 pictured won at Pebble Beach as did the Alfa 2500's, one of wich has a super rare Tipo 256 chassis(Bertone 1942 body). You won't see those back in this country for awhile. They are shipping them back to Italy now.

Please excuse my lack of non-Ferrari knowledge, but what is the green car in the 12th photo? Interesting that it seemingly has a 275 GTB grille, 330 GT headlights and an Alfa-looking rear fender. Even the side markers and turn signals are similar to other Fcars.

    thanks in advance.....

The concours had a class for special body limited production sportscars with American power. The Apollo was made between 1963-1965 with American V8 power in Italy(some of the lights are the same as on several Ferrari's and Alfa's). The company went out of business just before this car was delivered(the second to last made). Customs seized it for unpaid duties and auctioned it off to someone who then put it in storage for 30 years out in California. It has less than 10,000 miles on it. They made 77-80 of them.

Several of the Ferrari pictures are from last year. This year was Duesenberg/Alfa with a Ferrari class also added.
