Was browsing around looking for some info on Mini stuff and ran accross www.minicooperonline.com Nice enough site, but it appears that they are changing their name to www.northamericanmotoring.com due to legal issues with Mini USA. Just wondering why this would happen, and could it happen here??
We have sponsors with Ferrari in the name that have been sued by Ferrari before. Don't give them any ideas! I have a backup plan... ever been to www.tifosichat.com?
Rob, make sure you also reserve www.tifosi-talk.com to prevent the copycats from leeching off your idea! LOL Ernesto
Ernesto, the traffic over there is almost dead now. There's only been one post all day today (it's now 8:30PM) and it was JxV himself. Nothing can compete with FC... sorry, make that www.tifosichat.com!
Here's the current collection of the domains without a site, I'll just point them all to FC... autotechchat.com autowrench.com cyclinglog.com ferrari101.com ferrari250boano.com ferrari250lusso.com ferrari250pf.com ferrari275gtb.com ferrari308gtb.com ferrari330gtc.com ferrariads.com ferraricommunity.com ferraridata.com ferrarifaq.com ferrariforums.com ferrariracer.com mechanicchat.com tifosichat.com triathletelog.com virtit.com virtz.com wrenchchat.com yourlog.com FERRARIAUCTIONS.COM IMPORTCOMMUNITY.COM LAMBOCHAT.COM LOTUSCHAT.COM MOPARCOMMUNITY.COM MUSTANGCOMMUNITY.COM NSXCHAT.COM
BMW is far more aggressive about its names than most of the car companies are. i remember a few years ago www.BMWM5.com got a polite but clear letter from the BMW lawyers. Gustav tried to fight it, but he eventually had to give up the ghost. he still owns and operates http://www.bmwm5.com, but it is a "non commercial" site and can't even link directly to the new messageboard site (!), which is located at http://www.m5board.com . i only know enough about copyright law to be dangerous, but their perspective seems rather extreme and non-helpful. doody.
