I'm coming to Minneapolis at the end of February for a college tour of University of Minnesota in downtown Minneapolis. I'm also going to Mall of America. Does anyone suggest any place to go to eat? What else I should see? I think my week's end will be stuffed, but also, what can I expect the car scene to be like, even this late in the winter? Thanks in advance.

Great German food and the place is entertaining.

The Mall is the mall. I Always feel cheaper when I leave that place. The car scene this time of year is mostly salt crusted 4X4's

Check out first Ave and see who's playing. The music scene is pretty good.

It'll always be "Camp Shoot Me" to me. I avoid it at all costs (a gun free zone).

The sad thing is after a couple of hours there you wish someone would shoot you. If I am ever told I only have a day to live I would go there because it would feel like an eternity. Then again I fear my soul might not escape that place.

It might be fun to get a group of the exotics guys hit the parking ramp and hear the engines scream.

Am I missing something? Lol awkward. But I'm kind of excited to go. Rollercoasters and such in a mall! My parents went but before I was born.

If you go there this time of year during the week there will be no lines for the rides. I rode the log ride 4 times in a row with out getting out of the log. Be sure to try the ride where you control the wings and see if you can do 360s. Not a bad place to spend a cold winter week day.

Probably going to Twin Cities Luxury Auto. Do they let you in and look around, like dealers around Chicago do?

Out of curiosity, I went to their web-site and there is a very nice 328 GTS for sale there (and priced accordingly). I recognize this car – it was at Cars and Coffee one of the times I was there last season. I think the prior owner is an F-Chatter. The giveaway was that this particular car did not have the silver accents on the outer edges of the GTS rear quarter window slats/“vents”.

If you're looking for places to eat, go to: butcher and boar, 112 eatery, bar la grassa, tilia, hell's kitchen, devil's advocate.

Since you're looking at college(s) I won't tell you where to go drinking (yet).

Also, you're wasting your time with the mall of america. Take any mall you've ever been in and make it 4-8x larger. Congrats, you've been to MOA. Instead Go to Xcel center and see the Wild lose a game they should win, or take my VIP seats at a Timberwolves game and watch the whitest team in basketball since the Washington Generals lose by 10-30pts. Either way, fun will be had (just avoid the mall).

+1 for the Butcher and the Boar. When my wife and I were there for work (6 days total), we went twice. Awesome both times. Get the long rib also, its awesome!

Okay so I am back home. I LOVE THIS CITY! I really want to go back. Maybe I'll come back this summer for CandC? Checked out TCLA, very inviting, cool cars. The mall was typical and had every store we had back home, but all in one place. It was packed, so no rides. U of M is a great place, and ate at Dinkytown. Lots of highways, and saw a Mercedes R63 AMG lol.
