I believe the 328 mirror switch is the same as BMW e30 series 1982-1990

From memory the two door 318/323 in particular.

You should be able to find one fairly easily.

    Hope this helps

The 308 and 328 used different switches. I think the 308 piece is the one sourced from BMW, and the 328 piece is bespoke.

Hopefully you're right and I'm wrong.

I too think you are right 'Bullfighter'...

If the switch CAN be sourced please post for other 328 owners!

I believe you can find that part at T.Rutlands. Just give them or their west coast branch a call and I'm sure they can round one up...

Yes the 308 switch is a BMW part!

    I've got a 308 QV and my mate has a 328.

His cousin has a BMW E30 318i coupe. We compared the switch in the BMW drivers side door pull, and guess what?????

    Hope this helps!

    Cheers

That looks like the same switch in my 1989 328, and our local Ferrari dealer parts rep also told me that the BMW switch is the same as the 328 switch.

They quoted me $500 for the larger knob on the mirror switch that came off a parts car a couple months ago.

Only took three years to find a new switch and after a long hiatus, my 328's mirrors adjust from the driver's seat once again! ...and it didn't cost me an arm & a leg!

I had the old one working for a bit, but my fix didn't last long.

I'll keep y'all posted and if I can get it to work on a reliable basis, it'll be available.

    Merry Christmas to y'all!

I have a spare mirror switch from a 328 which indeed does have a BMW logo on the back. It looks like the pic here. I don't know if it's common to 308s or other 328s....

    This is for a 308 QV/Mondial QV/412i

And yes its a BMW part!

Here is a comparison shot for the two switches.

The 308 version is fairly easy to find and the 328 version is not.

    Merry Christmas y'all
