:Aviation fuels will be produced in volume for decades long after we are in the ground! As will be LPG, diesel for trucking and petrol for existing and future cars:

Is there a reliable alternative to the above NO. Aircraft require Kerosene and heavy industry diesel ..as battery is NOT an option for heavy transport ..

Oil is used in industry for plastic, lubricants, solvents ,rubber ,tell a farmer he is going battery?

How are they going to make future cars with NO oil , thus no plastic in future cars!

Then the argument of what is powering up the battery in the car ...coal/LPG powered power station or getting smarter nuclear!

Blended fuels ..we still need oil.

Governments need oil it =s tax.

Oil has given the world the standard of living we now enjoy from the 1st day fuel powered the combustion engine ..

Thanks, but no. You may have noticed I don't buy cars like that. I buy the absolute lowest mileage, usually unrestored, un****ed cars I can find. They're all paid for by people who buy things like that listing thinking they're cheap then spend untold amounts trying to make them as good as an original car. It's not possible. No matter how many times I tell people not to buy cars like that, they still do.

None the less, a manual 350 SL is very uncommon. I think that's a UK car because of the rear seat, Australian cars didn't have the rear seat as the ADR at the time dictated 3 way seat belts, no upper anchorage points in the back. From memory, there are 7 Australian delivered manual 350 SL. If you really must have a 107 series, try for a 380 or 560 SL, Australian delivered. You'll get the better corrosion protection thanks to zincrox of the later cars, plus they're quite a bit lighter, the 380 and 560 apart from having alloy blocks, also feature aluminium bonnets and boot lids, makes about 100 kg difference over the 350/450 SL.
