Are you talking about the twin Paxton supercharged 'Super Snakes"? Weren't they auto because the manual box couldn't handle the torque? Terrifying cars apparently. Only 2 were built, the ex-Cosby car flying off a cliff with its owner and ending up in the Pacific ocean. Forgive me if I got the wrong of the stick with your comment but the car Aircon posted at Mecum wasn't Shelby's personal SuperSnake (CSX 3015) but another Cobra owned by Carol Shelby (CSX 3718). If so, manual would be its original specification.
Yes Rennie. Hence my comment Rennie. If you listen to the auction spiel the bloke says it started life as an auto,it's had changed trans/g'box,engines and all sorts. IF it was the partner of the Cosby car with all the original gear then I could possibly understand the pricing.....just. More investigation would be necessary for moi to part with that sort of stupid dosh for any sort of Cobra.

So the engine and transmission are not original to the CSX 3718 but the car has been restored to its original delivery spec. $6M is a lot for a Cobra but who am I to tell someone what’s the right price to pay for a car. People just love what they love. Cobras may not be great cars to drive - especially the famed 427s - but they are iconic. It’s a crazy world at the moment but I’m sure our ‘Minsky Moment’ will come around again.
