Really? That seems a bit odd. Surely a thing becomes ‘classic’ by virtue of the number if years it has been registered, not by what kind of engine it has?
Apparently a group called Green Traveler are working towards changing the road tax rules, which only currently applies to pre 81 cars
So it’s actually more false news for now; here’s the ACTUAL rules: https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles/vehicles-exempt-from-vehicle-tax You’ll note among the ‘specialized’ vehicles that may also be exempt are listed ‘electric’.
I think you will find the Electric Reference is to unmodified cars that were electric from new. Milk carts etc. Footman James discussion takes it further "historic vehicles undergoing conversion could face having to submit their modified vehicles for voluntary Individual Vehicle Approval" is this is done it is has in effect in the UK, is a kit car status and need to undergo inspection. https://www.footmanjames.co.uk/blog/electric-classic-cars-are-they-still-classic. From a "originality point" they might as well be classified as hot rods, Like any car that has an engine change to a latter version, and the current regs mean on 10% capacity/ more power max. The CMC and other Motoring Council groups will have a big influence on how this is managed, as their influence with NSW state authorities.

I wonder if these will gain traction? I’m not convinced… plus, they look crap. https://www.cnet.com/news/airless-tires-are-finally-coming-in-2024-heres-why-youll-want-a-set/
Haven't they been around for 20 years already? Will they ever be released? Signature www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
I always thought they were a concept that’s been around for ages. A good idea in theory but no where near ready for real world applications. Maybe they’ve finally cracked the formula?
It doesn't actually look any different to the original concept, does it? I'd almost put money on perception being the issue. Signature www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
