You know what's funny? A self appointed genius drives about 100km on a freeway to work everyday in a Volvo 4wd....but he says he doesn't want electric as a daily because they're boring. I kid you not. He'd rather keep putting up with noise and vibration (not much admittedly) and changing oil and going to petrol stations. I mean **** me....really? That's the sort of logic you develop when you have an agenda and a point to prove. Irrational thought. I don't know anyone who's bought electric as a daily commuter and thought "that was a mistake". Not one, and some of them are real petrol heads with old and new exotics in their garages.
I don't think anyone is arguing that EV's make sense for daily commuting if you are only doing those sorts of klms. Personally I think they are too expensive to buy for just commuting.
Mr HVAC Salesman is referring to me and is obviously trolling, that is his one and only agenda on here. I needed a 7 seat wagon to cart my folks and kids around as well as do about 40,000 km/year. AND I didn't want to spend more than $80k. I fill up once a week and get 1000km on one tank. Big fkn deal.
I realised that Greg, but I should have added that along with them being too expensive to just use as a commuter, you don't have the flexibility of using it for everything else (as you do and as would I). Just my opinion of course.
Awww diddums..... Are your feelings hurt? I like all the NEW reasons you've suddenly fabricated. OK. Whatever works. I was quoting you, but feel free to rewrite history. OLIO Sig www.pless.com.au/mechanics.htm
You tell me. I've only seen the expensive ones. Which for a lowly auto electrician, is anything over 10k.
We've been to Melbourne and back in the Volvo countless times now, came back last week in fact, non stop on one tank.....
No....you made a statement as fact. They're too expensive you said. Obviously you'd only say that if you knew what they cost. So feel free to elaborate. If 10k is your limit, then any new car is too expensive, and it has nothing to do with electric.
Fantastic. Diesel too! Sounds like a very exciting car. Not boring, like all electric cars, you've repeatedly claimed.
I just had a look and the cheapest one is the MG for $41k plus on roads. Which is cheaper than I last looked and honestly didn't even know MG made one. Still $45k is too expensive for me to buy one just as a commuter and not have the flexibility to use it as I please. As a commuter I'd just spend 10k on a sh177er and not worry about it. But like I said, that's just me.
Fair enough. You know, you guys need to embrace technology and change. I'm a petrol head. I've owned more cars than many of you and enjoy cars as a hobby, I've done more track work than most of you, been riding motor bikes since I was 16yo....love them and have owned plenty..... And yet, I love electric cars and bikes! Take your blinkers off! Otherwise, sell your smartphone and go back to this. How much is the equivalent Wuhan MG petrol, that is the real point? Silly signature here to annoy KIAI
